Thank you for the helpful answers to my questions. If Mint Mobile will work fine, then I don't have a reason to get a refund.
Also did anyone see that phone requirement in the store page? Cause I havent... and that should be criminal. (Whether you agree or can use said phone is irrelevant... you should be made aware before you drop the cash.)
I didn't see anywhere that I was going to be required to provide a cell phone number in order to play, much less the stipulations of which carriers would or wouldn't be accepted. I only found out about this today due to a video that showed up in my recommended feed on YouTube. Otherwise I would have had no idea.
People say it's not discriminatory. I guess if you think of race discrimination when you think of that word, you're right. But if you deny access based merely on what cell carrier they have, how is that not? Is that not the same as telling Rosa Parks, "sorry you can't get on the bus if you don't wear certain colored shoes"? Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see how it's different.
All I know is, in an effort to "try" and prevent hackers, they are denying access to legit players based on a requirement that has nothing to do with Activision or game play itself. Activision is saying, "if you don't have these cell phone carriers, you can't play". How is that different from them saying, "if you don't live in these cities, you can't play the game"? Would anyone like it if that's the solution they imposed? I highly doubt it. Same difference though as far as I'm concerned.
I may not be affected, but in principle, it's damn stupid to unfairly affect legit players this way in what will probably be a feeble attempt to stop hackers that probably won't even work. Not to mention someone will hack Activision and steal everyone's cell phone numbers and sell them to robo callers or scammers. It's amazing how easily people go along with things these days, no questions asked and excuse everything away. it will be easy to round you all up for the detention camps.
It is listed as a requirement on the store page.
Nah, just your account and cc numbers, pin codes, and a high res photo of your id. Both sides please. If game don't sell well, at least they can sell... I mean, accidentally get hacked and loose your data
Yes there are many 'discussions' I have already had about this so I won't repeat myself by answering them, again.
To restrict people like this for a video game that only has a shelf life for 2-3 years?? Ignorant. Even those of you with post-paid plans should be against this out of principle.
All these years nothing has prevented cheaters from cheating, and you think this is somehow going to be the magic bullet? You're fooling yourselves. They are called cheaters and hackers for a reason, they now how to bypass these kinds of things or will easily figure it out.
The only thing this is going to do is prevent millions of legit players from playing, cheaters most likely aren't going anywhere. Then what?
