Why sbmm isn't fair
My average kd across all cods is 3.5, which makes me above average, sbmm puts me against players who have a similar history but guess what, I play on wifi with hardly ever under 60 ping and on mouse and keyboard (this only became a disadvantage in this game). Sbmm puts me against people of above average kd without taking into consideration any other factors, at the end of the day I'm playing against people with controller aim assist, wired connection with 10 ping, movement scripts, cronus zen, better graphics cards (I play on 1080p with around 70 fps) so on and so forth. If I'm playing against people with as much knowledge of the game as me but with all these technical advantages then I'm at a disadvantage. What am I going to do? Go 0-50 for 30 matches and then proceed to play against people who play with one hand like Korean Savage. If you are a veteran and you don't have gear advantage you might want to do this as well.

pressing a button is not enough (normally). You actually have to aim, not letting an AI do it for you. Unless you want to show how good at CoD your AI is. If so, don't worry, the AI rocks at the game. Not so the player behind the controller though.

You do still have to aim though. I don't think you understand aim assist. All it does is slow down your turning slightly when your aim passes across an enemy player. It doesn't snap an aim on for you. the reason for this is that the thumb is not as precise at smaller movements than a whole hand is - which is why mouse users do not get this assist.

I was spec'ing a guy who killed me, and he was literally using the aim assist to find hiding players in cover. He found me the same way, which is why I spec'ed him. He couldnt see the the other players, and this player did not know they were there in advance. It was down to the final circle in BR. His aim was literally going right to people one after the other, he just had to look around until it locked onto someone, giving away their hiding spot in a bush or behind a rock..

I thought it was a cheat, but it was actually the aim assist. Just doing what it does, move to the target when its close enough. Line of sight or not.

It does more than just "slow down"... It will track players.

This isnt true. There's also a rotational assist where if your strafing and an enemy runs across you, the aim assist will slightly nudge your aim in that direction (usually a hindrance rather than an assist), but it's not tracking. Its been a part of cod for years and only recently pc gamers have been upset over it.
Personally, I think that since current gen consoles have had higher fps and fov options, PC players have been whining because they have lost their advantage.

..Which is called "Tracking" since you're not the one doing the movements... the game is moving for you. Don't defend it.

OK, fair enough, call it tracking if you feel a few millimetres of movement is tracking. But it has been a part of the console aim assist from the beginning in cod. No one was crying then and no one should be crying now.

Because it's getting stronger and stronger every year it seems. There are clips of people who look like they're blatantly cheating, and no one can tell if it's aim assist or not.

Ive always been against aim assist, and have stopped buying any shooter games that have an aim assist for controller users, or crossplay in general. If they want my money, they need to cater to PC gamers separately. There is no need to have crossplay. The fact they have to give controller users a cheat, just to make it work, exemplifies how lame it is.

@topic, also hate sbmm. It should only be used for players who are likely cheating but they havent been able to prove. You know the ones, 100 kills, 3 deaths... They should all be put in matches together, everyone else left alone.

I prefer the old days where it was pretty much random. Some games you stomped, some games you got stomped. The thing that I really HATE about SBMM is friends and family no longer enjoy playing with me. My lobbies are sweaty, like stick of deodorant sweaty so when they play with me, they go negative every.single.game. If they go play together, they all go positive with 15-20 kills each. Pretty crap experience when they know they are just going to get rolled when we all group up. Bring back the old lobbies

I'm a curious fellow with no dog in this fight and open to new ideas and opinions. But that is no proof at all. That was a kill cam clip which are a notoriously unreliable representation of a gun fight. Plus, there was no proof of tracking anyway, half of my gun battles are me doing that. It's normal controller use.

I think the aim assist is to compensate for the lack of movement /aim precision you get with just a thumb stick compared to a whole hand grasping a mouse. Over the years, i've used both and found them to be a fair way of bridging the gap. However, if the aim assist has actually evolved into tracking an enemy rather than nudging slightly towards an enemy, yeah that sucks and I wouldn't be happy either. I'd like to see a Youtuber break this down, preferably not a shill like Xclusive Ace.

How stupid are you? It isnt an ego issue wanting to enjoy their time in a video game. SBMM has made it so every match is a sweat fest that ppl cant just jump on and enjoy. I dont blame them either, I wouldnt keep playing if I knew every time I played with a certain friend I am going to get waxxed each match and be 10-20 or something similar. There is nothing fun about spending more time dead than alive

It's super easy to test.

Stand by a door nex to a wall. Move into the wall (so you are not actually moving but this still activates it). When an enemy runs through watch what happens without touching the aim stick. It will track at about 50% or something speed of the target until they leave the aim assist bubble around them.
