SBMM is way too aggressive when doing decent for once
I'm going for Orion camo, so I'm leveling and doing the challenges for every weapon. But what completely ruins any fun for is every time I finish the Gold challenge for 10x 3 kills without dying, the next few games are absolute horror.

SBMM is so hyper aggressive when you get a decent game for once, that at this point it's fair to say they actively discourage doing well. Even more so since after the Gold challenge when you start a new weapon, not even mentioning if it is a meta weapon or not, just having level 0 with no attachments at all. Being put in a lobby where everyone is rocking Gold / Plat with max attachments is painful.

I need around 5-ish games for SBMM to somewhat pull back on the GFuel snorting, cdl tryout players. But doing well even once instantly makes the matchmaking terrible again.

Also while I'm ranting anyway, screw the insane amount of aim"assist". Even the devs acknowledge the rather substantial aimassist. But by god getting almost locked onto just because someone's crosshair is in your vicinity is just disgusting. Some killcams look absolutely ridiculous with people shooting just because they notice aimassist kicking in and the one being shot at not even being decently in view.

If someone on purpose try to get better games for himself\herself by playing like 1\25+.... Very hard to win even if you sweat like in hell.
I know, I know. SBMM actually punishes you for doing well. It's absolute BS and I say that as a mediocre player.
yall keep saying SBMM but this isn't SBMM.

it's EOMM

SBMM is what we used to play on that we all know and love.

EOMM is this trashterpiece that places you in brackets based on your last "engagement" aka if you do good you get placed against sweats next round, if you do bad you get placed against noobs.

Alright, true that. Doesn't hurt to be precise.
I had zero issue with SBMM in Cold War, so EOMM is correct.

Would you like to explain the difference?

Same Cold War was in my opinion a work of art, still unsure to this day why it was so hated

No idea. It was literally the first CoD I played online, so my opinion doesn't say much probably but I enjoyed every single second of it. Even if I got my ass kicked hard, especially at the beginning.
good thing i take last place and bad at the game

Older titles used another kind of matchmaking, somewhat the start of SBMM. It would be teambased matchmaking. This generally meant that on a 6 person team (CoD) 2 people would be sweats with a chance to pop off well, 2 people would be normal players and the bottom 2 on the leaderboard would be somewhat bad or straight trash.

Note this is a somewhat exaggerated of course, but generally speaking old CoD would be 2 people at the top with good scores, 2 people in the middle with normal scores and 2 people on the bottom as the easy kills.

Sounds awfully similar to the match making in World of Tanks actually.
SBMM is dog dropings, i do good once and end up in a match where i most likely get a few kills and ALOT of deaths. this is redicules its either they start to cheat or they nerfed my weapons because i litterly go from doing good to not able to out aim the enemy. and i'm not only talk about the aim-assist, i get very skilled players on me.

Agreed. I enjoyed mutiplayer so much on Cold War but MW2 has the worst, most frustrating online I have ever played in a COD and I've played COD for a while now.
