MW2 Won't Launch
This game has been crap from the start, but now its off the deep end bad. Now I press play and then it goes to stop, then right back to play without launching the game, I can't even open it anymore! It has been crashing with the whole "disconnected from steam" error every hour or so but I dealt with it. Now I can't even open it! Requested a refund, nope. Too many hours. I literally can't open it. I did all that people are saving. Verified files, ok'd it with my firewall and security, reinstalled the game, went to properties and tried to run as admin, cleared download and browser cache on steam. My drivers and computer is all updated, steam as well. Help!!! It was fine then last night playing with friends it kicked me and did an update, ever since I cannot open it. Anyone else???

i wonder why they didnt saw that before they launch the game
Well if it works for you, then good, if not, give others a chance to try as well, not everyone have the same issue.

So many weird "fixes" that work for some and not others. I even did a clean Windows installation, Steam and COD to default C:\Program Files (x86) folder and still won't boot. Still get "33 files needed to be validated and will be redownloaded" every time I try to validate files. I've completely turned off my firewall and anti-virus, tried several different driver versions... what a mess. At this point I guess I'll refund and try again in a month and see if it's fixed.

go to steam folder then to steam apps - common - right click call of duty HQ folder - properties - uncheck read only - then verify call of duty files through steam
that worked for me after a week of research

Refund it.

I have also now tried to use an external hard drive to install the game onto. Doesn't work still. And attempting to login ran my clock on steam past refund options. They won't honor it. I'm sure some of the other guys are in the same spot.

verything is up do date and I've done the direct x clear and redownload twice unfortunately. :(
Clear Steam Download cache. Update/rollback driver to 522.25 (use DDU if your roillback is grey out), need to uninstall the game, then download & install the game again. Do not verify the game, never ever. Backup/delete the Call of Duty save game folder in My Document (This is a must, otherwise the crash will still be there). Test it by start a new game, see if that's still causing the crashing or not. The 526.47 causing crash also for HALO Infinite during campaign game.

If your still on 526.47, use this Hotfix:

NOTE: Please be aware that you'll need to recompile your Shaders when booting the game back up after installing this driver.
