Just telling you what their tos states. You said its not a reason, but it clearly is.
Doesnt mean they used to give out bans for it, but they say you can get banned for it.
And "Any attempt to hide, disguise, or obfuscate your identity or the identity of your hardware devices may result in a permanent suspension." does not include a VPN at all
Activision response: Hello xxxxx
Your appeal has been reviewed and we've confirmed with our security team that your account has been permanently banned for using unauthorized VPN software and manipulation of game data. As you were the account holder at the time of infraction, your ban will not be overturned.
To preserve the integrity of our security systems and detection methods, this is the only information our policy allows us to share regarding your case. This decision is final and your case is now closed. In case you are currently playing any other Activision titles and for future reference, please avoid any of these types of violations to keep your account in good standing.

And no, I dont think those people on your lan would be affected, as they wouldnt have the VPN-program running on their systems. I guess thats what the anticheat is detecting, not the network path itself.
You dont get it, I was just saying that "I GUESS" the programs often used for VPNs are what is detected by riccochet. So your answer makes no sense.
So your argument is, that it makes no sense that they can detect one way of doing it, but not the other? Dude...
"So your argument is, that it makes no sense that they can detect one way of doing it, but not the other? Dude..."
No my argument there would be that they are not stupid af...
Using a refreshing list of permanently changing IPs is more simple than detecting installed VPN software in your mind? lel
Maybe its not worth enough for them to pay for it instead of using riccochet to at least ban those who can be detected via software?
How on earth should I know how riccochet works on that part?
All I was giving you is the info, that they indeed list VPN as a bannable reason.
If you want further detail on why you get no ban with your VPN ask riccochets dev team.
As I dont use a VPN I dont really mind. But there you have it, ask your friend and you will know why your VPN is not considered by riccochet.
