There was nothing wrong with the 85c temps before but if you got them lower then even better.
My 3080ti is on 69°C when playing on 4k high settings
I use Antec P 101 very good air flow case all drivers is ok, Afterburner solve the temp issues.
It starts to throttle at 95°c in 150mhz steps until the temperature gets stable.
Its a bit warm though. Still nothing to worry about.
i have no clue why and how i lower that
i was in same situation use MSI Afterburner and set : power limit-39% & Temperature limit-69° maybe you have to test this setting to ajust at your GPU for me it work
Excellent advise i agree
You are aware that GPUs have two different temperature censors right? The current temp(taken from the edge of the GPU die) and the junction temp(taken from the centre of the GPU die)
NVIDIA only chooses to allow you to see the cooler current temp from the edge of the GPU, your current temp is 85c, if you could see your junction temp taken from the centre, this is much hotter and more than likely hitting around 100c, again as i said in my other post your card wont start to throttle unless the junction temp hits 110c.
Unlike Nvidia us AMD users can see both the current and junction temps within the AMD adrenaline software.
but there are some factors that cause a gpu to overheat including setting fan curves that dont cool your GPU effectively for a silent experience ,
GPU-dependant games
The quality of the GPU’s cooling system
Ambient temperature
Case quality
The GPU is dusty
Your PC is old
Airflow quality
Computer fans aren’t working
