Green loading screen?

I got to a point in the story (lets just say it was after "alone") and it was kind of a cliffhanger. But I get to a animated green loading type screen. Is that supposed to happen? It gives me no options to do anything. It just plays its animation. If this is the end of the story for now then I get it. But it would be nice to be told that this is the end.

I had to restart my computer. It would close the program for me.
