Is SSD mandatory?

I installed game on HDD because I assumed it will be massive lul and I'm getting constant lag at the start of each map until it loads all the content. I have 10 gigs of free ram, vram is half empty, cpu idle. Only bottleneck I can see is HDD speed. Any experience with this guys?

All modern games pretty much require SSD to avoid performance issues.

Confirming this. Moved game to SSD and I don't get the "map loading lag" anymore, runs smooth.

I have mine on the HD and it runs fine.

SSD usually won't do anything to ur FPS, just loading time

Like said before, you really should upgrade to an SSD for almost every game besides small pixel games. HDD imo is for data storage like pictures, music etc only these days.

It basically stuttered hard on HDD for me every time I entered a new map and textures were like crap when I respawned for the first 1-2 seconds until it loaded up the content. Stutter was bordering on unplayable and it's not the nvidia meme driver issue. Even menu was lagging IDK lol. But as I wrote, I moved game to SSD and all the issues dissapeared.

Yah SSD is mandatory in pretty much any game nowadays with a decent size. It's not like they are ultra pricy. I don't know where you live but here they are regularly discounted to a certain degree.

Ehrm it works good on HDD. I have it installed on black. The only issue is that once lvl loads it is still loading for first 30-45s as it stutters but it runs super smooth after that. I know that installing it on SSD will help so I wilp reinstall kingdom come on HDD and put modern warfare 2 there

Works fine for me on my HDD. I get a little slowdown in the coop missions when jumping from the plane but it clears up after a second or two.

mines on ssd and wont launch so all this is invalid as an argument

Works fine on HDD. Just need four of them in a Raid 0 array.
