why does everyone sweat this game so hard?
title
i can compete just fine, but most of the time i have to actually sweat which makes it so unenjoyable
this is mainly why i quit multiplayer fps games, having to sweat to win is just so not fun for me, since when was every multiplayer game full of sweaty tryhards?

That's how I feel. I can play fast and sweat and get the most kills in a match no problem but I just don't have the desire to anymore.

Playing like that in a Pub lobby on a Tuesday afternoon after my shift at work just does not flow well together.

Just give us variety back in the lobbies and prioritize connection again...

Wait, so you want to relax and just win? LOL

Im finding most people that are besting me and not 50/50 are using esp and aiming at me through walls before I appear. Or, they turn from no indicator at all and just "know" that Im coming from the flank.

Its not sweats. Its literal cheats

For some of us it's just an adrenaline rush when we play. The concept of "sweaty" doesn't really occur to us. Acquire target, destroy. I like when games are fast. I like to be fast. Win or lose, it no matter. Must be fast. Otherwise it's like being smashed into a wall of impulses and micro-analyses. Or like holding down the brakes while smashing the gas pedal. I can't really play something like Warzone because it's too slow. If I play CoD, it's usually the older ones these days anyway. Quake 3 Arena / CPMA mod usually works well enough as a "fix". I just like being fast. Could be a supreme ADHD thing though. I'm one of those players you might see snap the camera back and fourth literally 3 times a second. Motion is good. You get a good hit when you hear someone open fire and you snap a 180 and kill them just as they begin firing at you.

It's a game within a game. But I don't really think about it too much. Train aim. Train reflexes. Then be done.

No, what I want in SBMM, is actual SBMM. Not the enemy team is 200x better than my teammates. One of my matches I played recently I had 26 kills and 25 deaths on rust. The next teammate below me, I was top fragger, had ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 8. There was only four of us because the two others left. The next guy had 6 kills and my little caboose teammate on our getting graped train had 4. You could say I was camping, which isn't easy on rust to do, plus the amount of enemy kill streaks that were out, since you know everyone on the enemy team has at least 20+ kills. I was just running around while my teammates were like bots, they looked completely lost or new to CoD.

Now rinse and repeat, almost every match is either an on going game where the team I get put on is getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rinsed and I usually just leave those. There's no incentive for me to stay and get clapped with them or the difference in skill level is a massive gap between my teammates and the enemy. Call that SBMM.

like i just wanna play casually for 2-3 hours a day, i dont wanna have to play like im competing for some e sports tournament every damn game
When I run across people sprinting, diving, using all the short cuts, the injection boost thing. I just block them. They aren't cheating but they are playing a different game than me. It "means something" to them. They fell real accomplishment by playing like their life is on the line.
It's just not for me anymore. They can play by themselves, with other sweat lords.

Just play and do not think about it. We all love wins but you cannot control you team. I play TDM/HC only and for 90% of games my K/D is same or above 1.0 means i take same or even more score points for my team than they get from me but at same time there is some ppl who play lower 1.0 or worse. Even if player like this is on 1-st place, he just gives the scores away or some half-afk ppl who "play" to lower their SBMM rate. You can't do anything about those ppls. So just, play as you see fit.

I agree with what you are saying here, and I don't care about wins at all. If I'm at .90 or over, I almost always had fun. The thing is, with the people that you would classify as a "sweaty nerd" I'll never have fun playing with them.
There was a time when I WOULD BE the sweaty nerd, but I'm literally 49 now. I can't. There needs to be ranked play so that the people who really care about being the best and try to be the best can test themselves against like minded people.

It is the SBMM, the harder you try the more it punishes you. Period.

i can sweat and get kills and etc, just its not fun, if i have to try extra hard it ruins the fun of the game imo atleast

Play against bots than.
Would do you want? People playing bad on purpose, so you dont have to try?
This whining is really an CoD exclusive.
Never heard those complaints in CSGO, RainbowSix, Battlefield etc.

If you dont want to "compete" with other peoples online, play private matches against bots.
CSGO, RainbowSix are full competitive games, COD and an arena shooter!
RainbowSix is so full of tryhard that the community doesn't even grow anymore, CS has many players because it's free, and it's also free to use hacks. I've been playing Battlefield since BF2, and in the game you can have fun killing and dying, but in COD I don't know what's fun anymore, I just play

That's why they need two multiplayer modes. A ranked mode with SBMM and a casual mode. A lot of FPS games have this such as Overwatch. It's amazing how archaic this company is. I haven't played COD since Advanced Warfare and I now remember why I dropped the series. Nothing has changed except for the inclusion of Fortnite tier operators and Season passes.

I don't have any problem with folks being super competitive as long as they don't cheat. Although I must admit bunny hopping drives me crazy. So, if folks want to "sweat" it doesn't bother me.

Personally, closing in on 70 years old, I just go with the flow. If my team is trying to win, I will do so as well. If they are not, neither will I. Normally, I have an objective I am trying to achieve during the evening of gaming. I am a "completionist" so that means ranking up weapons and getting kills.

Overall, my impression is that folks put a lot more attention to their K/D ratio than to their W/L ratio. I believe, because of that, a lot of games turn out very lopesided. I think one of the reasons for this is that almost all achievements are based on kills and not wins. If more emphasis was placed on "winning," that very well could change a lot of in game behavior.

What we need is a true CoD from the past. This game today is such a stark contrast to what it was back in CoD4. Yea... graphics have come a long way, but holy moly... we went from no SBMM, no crossplay, no aim-assist, no silly camo's and operator skins... to a full on hot mess of all-of-the-above!

I miss the days the of just jumping in and having a natural round of fun. Not some lame software in the background deciding who goes where and who gets lobbied with who. 95% of what's been added over the years is just useless garbage that has no need to be in the game, but of course companies today are more interested in being greedy versus actually worrying about a good running game.

Case in point... we're over 2 months in and still my $100 is met with consistent packet burst every few minutes and damn near every person I know is complaining about the same thing. But do they address the issue? Nope... let's worry about putting out more overpriced lame operator bundles.

I like the competition but I do not like how Controller players have a robot aiming for them.

I don't mind EOMM but K&M players need their own playlists.
