"PC Players: We've noticed some stability issues with the latest NVIDIA drivers 526.47 on Call of Duty #MWII. For now we'd suggest you keep the 516.59, or 522.25 drivers."

MORE INTERESTING is that GameSpot is playing the PlayStation 5 version and getting the same exact issue!!
Here's the exact spot where IGN talks about the issue:

Both these drivers don't fix it for me. Still the same. It worked for you?
no HDR
Here's hoping the hotfix mentioned in that article comes soon.
It was posted 5 days ago.
In the release notes of the 526.47, it's a known driver issue.

NVIDIA Game Ready or Studio Drivers have to be uninstalled from the list of programs found in the old style Control Panel. (Programs and Features)
NVIDIA mentions (albeit, in obscure support articles that are hard to find at times) that uninstalling from the Device Manager isn't supported for Game Ready Drivers anymore.
So the steps I take are,
- Uninstall all NVIDIA applications from the Programs and Features window found in the classic Control Panel
- Restart your PC as asked by the uninstallers, after each restart it's good practice to open the Task Manager and make sure your PC is finished with any background tasks before uninstalling the next NVIDIA app.
- I like to also uninstall the NVIDIA Control Panel, which is found in the new Settings app.
- (Optional) after all NVIDIA apps are removed, then it's ok if you'd like to remove any remaining Display Drivers found in the Device Manager, make sure your PC's Task Manager says the coast is clear tho before rebooting after this step.
- Reboot one more time for good measure, again, wait till Task Manager says the coast is clear.
- *see note*
- Then go ahead and install the required driver and the rest of your NVIDIA apps as needed, rebooting after is up to you lol.
Of course DDU is always an option, I just prefer a hands on clean up process than an automated one.
But! NVIDIA has recommended the use of DDU in several support articles, if things are really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ some how and you need to roll back or do a clean display driver install.
*OPTIONAL OPTIONAL lol Usually the uninstallers usually do the trick. But if you really want you can also do a(n automatic or manual) search on your drives for any NVIDIA folders and files left behind even after the uninstalls. NVIDIA recommends even deleting Registry Keys associated with NVIDIA in some articles. I assume that DDU probably tries to do this automatically.*
I hope this helps someone who may be in the same situation as have been many times lol.
