My amd Radeon rx 6900 xt will hit that but that is normal for amd cards under heavy load.

Its definitely not optimal.
This is expected when playing on a L A P T O P. Gaming on a laptop will make it get hot / loud and can die quickly if left unplugged during gaming sessions. Make sure you are playing on a flat surface. Allow the fans to pull in air and blow it out. My old gaming laptop i would put my game cases under it for better room for the fans to pull in air. If that doesn't work; maybe use a fan to blow cool air into it.

Ideally a GPU should be 65 - 85 C. But as you are running it in a laptop it's expected to be higher than a desktop GPU. I wouldn't worry unless it gets over 90 - 95 degrees.

If you haven't cleaned out your laptop fans in a while, you can always do that to see if that helps and or put your laptop on a laptop cooler.

86C is definitely on the high end, but isn't uncommon if the card is under load. The RTX 30 series (your card) has a max recommended temp of 93C so I'd keep a close eye on it. Make sure you have your laptop on a hard surface and not something like carpet or a pillow that might be suffocating it. If you have a laptop fan pad or can get one I'd suggest that too. Also, maybe open up the laptop and blow out any dust that might be obstructing airflow.

yes its fine, if the temps do not come down between matches then its a problem, my 3070ti runs at 55-60 between matches and 70-80+ in matches, also after i shut down the game it drops fast so heat is not a problem. if it keeps rising and don't stop then worry, just turn down some settings if you are worried.

86 should be ok but that's about as high as you want it to go. Grab one of those cooling trays with built in fans

If it randomly shuts down - dont turn it back on. Its a failsafe if it gets too hot (learned that the hard way) you would have to work pretty hard for it to explode; like i did when i was younger, didnt realize what was happening, 5 restarts and trying to re open the game i was playing an pop there it went.

otherwise you should be good.

You should be fine, if i understood it right, you're using a 3060 INSIDE a laptop, you will always be hotter than a normal 3060 desktop gpu. As long as you don't reach above 100°C it should be ok, maybe invest in a laptop cooler to improve temps.

Laptops heats up more easily than desktop computers, so technically the pc shouldn't get damaged, if you want to keep it a little lower you should lower the game graphics and limit the fps if you do a lot of them. Make sure not to exceed 90 degrees for any reason, otherwise the pc will close by itself to avoid damaging itself.

use a laptop holder, the ones with integrated fans, that will help, but laptops to heat up more because of the lack space for airflow

86c is normal for a GPU under full load.

It should be fine, but as others have said I recommend picking up a cooling tray. The built in fan will help push cooler air into the laptop. You really don't want it sitting on anything that would block intake such as a blanket or pillow.
