Or to edit the file directly?
The config file is located in the “player” folder, which is in the “players” folder, which is in the “main” folder. To get to the “main” folder, you need to go to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare installation folder. The default installation folder is “C:\Program Files (x86)\Call of Duty\Modern Warfare.”
Once you’re in the “main” folder, open the “players” folder. In the “players” folder, open the “player” folder. The config file is located in this folder.
To edit the config file, you need to open it with a text editor.
THANK YOU. I found this post and then checked my logs, this was 100% the issue. I could see cod.exe being blocked from creating new files in Windows Defender's logs. When I created an exception, settings started saving. Can't believe how hard it was to find a solution to this and thanks for posting this, I am grateful I found your note.
