why would it change
Off the top of my head, IP is having issues, you have Steam share enabled and you don't mind playing the solo parts of the game, you're traveling, you're changing IP's, your wireless adapter/ethernet line stopped working, etc, etc. There are a plethora of reasons why any normal person would play a game without internet, especially if the game doesn't actually need internet to play the game, it's just a weird requirement the game forces on you.
What a dumb question, but I'll oblige. Let's say I just don't have internet. Maybe I'm moving, on a road trip, at the airport (where I'd rather not use wifi), or any other scenario I wouldn't have internet...
Or maybe I just don't want to run it in online mode. Ever heard of a LAN, maybe I'd like a LAN mode where I could play with a group and not be on the internet.
Guardian mentioned another good case.
However, ♥♥♥♥ it. I'll just play another game or another platform.
Seems like such a non issue for 99.999% of gamers out there.
I'd like to point out that every single person posting here needs the internet to post here. So all of you already have the internet.
Or, and here me out, they don't need to force ridiculous requirements on people and it would be a non issue for 100% of people.
How are you posting comments here if you don't have access to the internet?
I face palm thinking about you. Just go away. This is too deep for you. I almost regret posting this and having you face the insurmountable wish to play a game without the internet. Clearly you aren't old enough to remember such a time, either that or you're just this way on purpose.
Logical fallacy's are always fun to see. The issue isn't connecting or using the internet, the issue is being forced to use it at all times when it's unnecessary to play a game.
By your logic, there would be nothing weird or asinine if I wanted to play my 20-year old Nintendo 64 and the only way I could properly play, is it needs to be connected to my wi-fi or phone.
It's flat out a pathetic reasoning, and defending this kind of practice is even more pathetic.
It's not too Deep though is it. There is internet access almost anywhere your at. Your carrying this wonderful device in your pocket called a phone that can give you access to internet Almost anywhere you are.
Online only games are not something new it is not Just cod that does this.
And as for your smart ass comment at the end about age. I'm for one old enough to remember trying to game on 56k modems and always online games hasn't affected me once. Your just looking for something to complain about.
