No prepaid phone seriously?
I already found it strange that this game needed your cellphone number to even play the game but this wasnt an issue since everyone has a cellphone of some sort. But then they add this "No prepaid phone" bulls**t.
Im so glad I didnt preorder. My phone bill situation should have nothing to do with this game. Imagine you can run the game fine but you have a pre paid cellphone so guess you cant play it. F**king ridiculous.

This is not how you do it. Locking people like myself who have never cheated out of the game is just unfair.

that's toooooo bad. I'd rather have this sorta thing if it means it's to ban cheaters.

In the USA too, but in some countries you can buy a prepaid sim without documents. That's why.

Get a job and a post paid account with a reputable provider, son.

Those pre-paid cellphone stores are ick, like a pawn shop.

Actually they are often next to pawn shops, and Asian masseurs.

Don't think hot Asians either fellas, talking old crusty ones.

Heeeh i use Prepaid for ages. Even for Overwatch 1.2 and No joke my Steam Guard and No joke it worked in the Beta perfectly fine. It might be that they don't take certain providers. Also the game requires your Steam Account bound to SMS / Steam Guard pretty much not in the Activision account.

Good for you. Unfortunately, the world isn't all about you.

Ok so I don't know the situation in other countries but I don't have some quasilegal phone company. I'm with tesco mobile. Tesco is one of the largest super market chains in UK and Ireland (our equivalent to Wallmart and Target.)

But this is just laziness on Activision's side, when you fail to implement an anti-cheat at launch causing the cheating issue to snowball due to exposure, then have a sloppy attempt with ricochet, and then just have an even more intrusive anti-cheat measure that hurts customers more than cheaters, why should it be "that's too bad"?

I can't really even make an exaggeration of Activision screwing players over and the players just looking the other way, because really the worst has already happened before, outside of the impossible extremes like losing an entire server worth of data, false positives bans on innocent players in at least 4 games, a chunk of which got reverted depending on game, purchases not going through and having to go through a 2-3 hour long process to get what you paid for, etc.

You'll have no problems then. It's only about anonymous sim cards.

The thing is they do make anti cheats but the companies that make cheats just make up something new to get around it and for some reason players like to buy cheating software this is what happens. Honestly i'm surprised they arent using something stricter to identify players but I think 10 years from now they might be if people don't stop this cheating crap.

steam takes prepaid phones and the system they use uses steam so it should be fine.
