You didn't get banned for no reason. You are a cheater.

It's as simple as that. There were a surge of people complaining about being banned "for no reason" in the open beta, only then to find out that they were previously banned for cheating in another call of duty game.

The anti-cheat system in this game is working as intended, and it works well. People who complain about false bans are either banned from previous cod games, lying about why they got banned, or are simply hoping that Activision removes their anti-cheat system so they can start cheating.

You aren't fooling anyone here. If you are unable to get over this simple fact then go away. No one wants to hear your sob story or you bragging about being "too good" at the game.

I was erroneously banned in Dead by Daylight 3 times. They lifted the first two and apologized for their mistake then banned me after 5 years of playing their game and refused to lift it or give me a reason. I can confirm that bans do happen for no reason and it does suck. Sadly game devs do reserve the right to ban you for any reason they want, even if you never cheated. My guess is that they are adding extremely drastic measures to their anti-cheat as they are extremely desperate to combat cheating, and it's leading to mistaken bans. I dream of a day that a perfect anti-cheat exists. Sadly it'll probably never happen.

Thank you for the anecdote. Unfortunately, it does not bear any relevance in this context. The people who were banned are either confirmed cheaters or people who cheated in the other call of duty games. In other words, only cheaters got banned. No false bans here.

Also, I noticed that you are also a cheater since you got that ban on your account. Now it makes sense why you would try to downplay this as a "false ban" and/or "mistake". Nope, not gonna work buddy. All this proves is that you also want to cheat in this game.

Things that "CAN" (not necessarily must) trigger Ricochet/a ban:

- cheating/hacking
- ban in previous CoD's
- certain VPN programs (officially not allowed by Activision's policy)
- virtual machines (virtualization)
- overlays
- certain coding/IT software (Docker, Hyper-V, Virtual Studio, etc.)
- macros
- second hand hardware (that may have been HWID banned with previous owner)
- trash talk in text/voice chat

Just ask eachother what of those things may have triggered it for you and you will find common denominators. This comment is just a heads up, so people can prevent a false and ban.

For those that have been falsely banned already, I don't think there is much you can do anymore, other than bringing awareness to the issue and may get Activision to improve their anti-cheat to reduce false bans in the future.

PS: If you doubt any of the listed things could trigger an anti-cheat, please do a Google search and you will find dozens of threads/sources about those things causing issues with different anti-cheats.

theres no point to dispute if you didnt cheat here. just go to support and ask them. youre only going to get flamed here (or anywhere). its no shocker COD has cheaters (it common at this point they have to do ban waves in the first week of every game release). but its also no shocker that their also false bans. the devs even state this with ban waves. every ban wave is never 100% all cheaters.
