I can't colonise Akhetaten

Hi does anyone know why it doesn't work? I have the workforce, soldiers and food but I still cannot colonise this sattlement.

You have to choose one of the four legacies to do it. Like Cheops, Thutmosis and Hatschepsut. When you choose Akhenaten, than you can colonize it.

you can colinise Akhenaten if you seleck the way of Akhenaton in "Egyptian legacy"

Wait until turn 12 or so and than they ask you to choose a path. Select egypt and than they offer you 5 legacies. Than select Akenathen

In case you’re not aware — if there’s a real-life equivalent of The Mummy’s Hamunaptra, it’s Akhetaten. A literal cursed city that was abandoned on purpose because it was considered unholy. No sane Egyptian would even want to re-settle anywhere near it in the first place.

There should be a sign or sth. which tells the player that he/she can't colonize it. All it tells me is: "-189 food, 473 soldiers and 1 labour" needed (you can't click on it probably because of the negative food). That's a bug.

It actually says on the tooltip when you mouse over the settlement. That you need the alkhenaten ancient legacy to be able to colonize. You just have to be patient and read, the game is usually generous with explaining stuff. However, I wish I would have known that before starting my Amenmesse campaign and choosing another legacy, which made it impossible to get the achivement that requiers you to own all nile settlements.

However, what the game doesn’t tell you and should is how the khufu legacy works. That the monuments you have to build are built in outpost sites and if you already have a building there, you need to dismantle it first. I struggled a lot with that one

So, if I am playing as Assyria (Dynasties) since I am not Egyptian, I guess I must forget about it.
