So is it good?
Forget about the price for a minute.

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment, but absolutely, I'm loving what I'm seeing so far. I invested my money and got exactly what I was hoping for. Mission accomplished. I'm just setting up reshade filters now and then I done and ready for war

Edit: Without reshade the game is beautiful. With reshade the game is gorgeous (though DOF does not work as it should). The thing I love about the game is the synced combat. They actually seem to look at each other with animosity.

the 2,999 concurrent players on day one would probably say it's good.

Nothing like a McDonald's seating capacity worth of player day one, lol.

I have not played it. Seems most people's issue is about the price.

Try it, return it under the 2hr mark or game on.

Maybe give it a rest? Try not to celebrate to hard.

Aside from the main characters (who look era and place appropriate), this is Egypt according to Netflix.

"Every" Egyptian noble/faction leader aside from the main four (and the Pharaoh himself) got the "Netflix treatment."

It is very disappointing, especially if you've ever been to Egypt - or simply have any familiarity with the place. This is not what Egypt looks like.

Lol, sorry. I've had my fun.

I did really want the game to succeed though. Although unfortunately is is comically.....not doing well.

Terminator has made a channel from ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on CA and TW. Not exactly an unbiased observer.

Yeah, hes a puke.

Check out Andy's take, He was positive all the way until release and just had to reveal what...doesn't happen after turn 60. The bare bones to a body expecting DLC to flesh it out.

Apparently troy total war with the mythos dlc is better.

He is not exactly unbiased. I would even go so far as to say that he has some kind of axe to grind. It's becoming a habit with him

You can't separate the price from the value you get from a game. I do like the look of the game but feel it costs too much for what it offers.

I got 30 hrs of playtime on the EA weekend with only 2 factions limited to 60 turns.

8 factions and I guess I dont actually know the end turn if any. Sounds like recipe for 120+ hours.
PolecatEZ Oct 11, 2023 @ 7:26pm
I could get minimum 40 hours out of this, so worth the money to me. $2/hour is my personal benchmark for "entertainment value".

It's "middlin'" so far as TA games go, but it is new and shiny. Quite a few campaign mechanics on top of each other and seems a bit confusing, so there is a learning curve until you get used to it.

If you're already played out on all the other good titles this year, this will hold you until the next shiny.

Liking it so far, having fun. Looks great, runs great, interesting mechanics. I like it so far, but results may vary. I really like it and am happy to have bought it.
