Can I get Total War: ROME III for Christmas?
I'm ready to pay $100 for it right now.

The only condition is that the game does not have a maniacal AI through which all factions conspire against the player, and that it is not a food shortage simulator like Troy or Pharaoh.

You can just take existing game mechanics from Total War: ROME II and make some graphic upgrades for terrain and units. That's it. I would buy it right now.

What you mean when you say you don't want a food shortage simulator is that you are a map painter. That's fine, but I certainly don't want to play the game you want.

Maybe christmas 2026-7. It usually takes some time and millions to make these games :D

I'll pass on Rome II reskin #12 thanks. I'd pay $100 for a competent entry that plays like a grand strategy game. I'll pay $0 for the dumbed down, identical gameplay loop they've been milking for a decade.

Well, there's already a game for you, it's called Total War Warhammer 3. It has no campaign AI and no battle AI ( a bonus they included with the last update ), so you can never lose and mappaint no matter how little skill or strategic acumen you possess.

Just pretend that all those elves and orks are wearing accurate Roman sandals.

Yep definitely need to do something different than printing out the same game and theme over and over.

Much like other posters have said, I would not buy such a game... not after such a dumpster fire that Rome 2 was. Im not even sure that strategy games are even for you. You couldnt handle simple mechanics in Pharaoh, so why do you want a dumbed down game?

Thanks to your tantrum in the forums i went to check out out this food shortage simulator issue you were so enraged about to see if there were such issues. On normal i had 500k food and 12 armies, then someone challenged me that i wasnt playing on the hardest difficulty and played it again on legendary and found i did even better with 700k food and 30 armies by turn 100.... whatever the issues are for Pharaoh, it aint food.

You lads keep enjoying Troy and Pharaoh. You and 3 other people around the world as well.

I noticed that there are always a few the same "Guardians of Revolution" on this forum... who write the same old gibberish aligned with the developers' disastrous ideas.

You remind of pensioners in the park who sit on a bench next to seagull poop and talk nonsense. So sad.

BTW I checked Steam DB...

Total War: Rome 2 (10 years old game) = 4605 in game

Troy = 214 in game
Pharaoh = 351 in-game

But hey, hey, Dod is crazy... Listen pensioners from a bench. They smart. They know... They know everything... :steamhappy:

Rome 2.... thats not base game... thats modded game after a number of full overhaul mods... What a rubbish comparison. Makes absolutely no difference to me. No loss whatsoever... i own and play all these games when if feel i want to play them... not spending my time endlessly measuring ♥♥♥♥♥ worrying about whether im playing a popular game or not.

Shorter you:
"How dare people enjoy a game I don't?!? Don't you know it makes me feel inadequate if people don't agree with me all the time?!?"

I understand that different people have different perspectives and wishes, but Total War: Rome II was the most balanced and most enjoyable historic Total War title, at least for the majority of people. Very well made, excellently produced, and with high quality soundtrack too. That's why thousands of people still play it today more then 10 years after release and it has 85% positive Steam reviews.

The things you say are great majority of people don't like and your ideas would only lead to the further decline of the franchise and the company. You can argue all you want, but the numbers speak for themselves.

That's quite the claim. Who is "you lot"?
IonizedMercury Dec 14, 2023 @ 10:12am
Can't you lot for once own your actions? Is it so hard to for once take personal responsiblity?

O wait, that would mean being an adult and we are dealing with Never Never Landers here.
