End of summer is the prediction

They said end of Summer, but I wouldn't be surprised if it took a little longer. We just all need to be patient and give them time to work. It sounds like it will be an awesome update, so let's give them the time they need to get it right.

Pharaoh launched in an incredibly optimized state. It runs better than some of their older games. I can't even play Warhammer 3, yet Pharaoh is practically maxed out and runs flawlessly. I hope after this update they can maintain the performance.

yes, we have to give them that. it runs pretty OK compared to the standard we're used to. But isn't warhammer 3 older? I mean, Pharaoh does contain bugs. But are you saying wh3tw has too many bugs to play properly?

No, the performance in Warhammer 3 is terrible for me. I think it is due to how large the immortal empires map is, but I am not sure. Alot of people complain about performance with that game though. I just hope that doesn't happen to Pharaoh with this update.

Personally, I would say WH3 has less game breaking bugs, for me the lost orders bug is very very frustrating. Haven't encountered that or equally frustrating bugs in wh3 since it's 2.0 launch and immortal empires, before that there where big bugs. However, when it comes to micro stutters, performance and other performance things, wh3 runs worse, twp runs in comparison like butter smooth, feels more responsive etc.

Not actually true. WH3 actually runs smoother for me both on old 2070 and new 7900xtx with 4k instead of 2k. I was playing on 2070 with almost max settings on 2k so I can't say wh3 is that bad. In Pharaoh FPS often dropped below 30 when there were massive melee clashes. It even drops on 7900xtx in 4k but less ofc, and even in 2k, but even less than in 4k. Considering the level of 7900xtx and official requirements (laughable tbh) its not that optimized. But btw Pharaoh is eating less power, while wh3 uses almost all gpu has. Also maps in pharaoh are just small AF, I recently tried mod for med 2 and was shocked about the size of maps. The lies they said about hugest maps in history of TW is just a fckn BS. It took me 5 mins to bring my reinforcing swordsmen to castle in med 2 while in Pharaoh some archers joining from different sides can shoot each other is just a minute. What chariots they talk about, cmon. But I really like Pharaoh still and I think if devs will continue to listen they will have and we will have a chance to see something really good, not just new packs, new races, nations and other bs like that. The core gameplay is much more important.

That is hilarious. We both have a 2070. I have an old i5-7600k, which is probably what bogs me down in Warhammer. Maybe not enough Ram too, but not sure. Regardless that is strange we have opposite experiences with the same graphics card.

Well when I used 2070 I didn't almost max out everything like now, even now I set shadows bit less and even tried now 2D portraits since it doesnt matter much. Try to search for optimized settings, you need to switch shadows off at all, 2D portraits, FXAA etc, this way it worked well on 2070 but I have I7-8700. Now ofc with 7900xtx it is not optimal and later I am going to replace to DDR5/better CPU ofc. 2400mhz RAM and I8700 is not that good already. I have noticed that WH3 profited more from 4k compared to 2k than Pharaoh in terms of FPS/Quality, Pharaoh overall looking better on 2K than wh3 on 4k though. I run it with FXAA still both, cuz I tried on 2k benchmark in Pharaoh campaign it was 250-300 fps on map with Fxaa and less than 150 with x8. In 4k less ofc, but not too much difference in battles, same goes for WH3, maybe its again the CPU because it doesnt affect resolution much and even if card can, it is bottlenecked by CPU in those battles. Yeah, and I have 32 RAM, but I think I bought it later than 2k monitor and WH3 so WH3 worked well with 16. I mostly needed 32 in ANNO 1800 cuz it wasnt enough for huge islands I fillled with cities, while with 32 it started to work a lot better.
