How about a 19th Century Americas Total War? A big map featuring North and South America. You've got all the independence wars against Spain like Mexico. War of 1812, still independent native people like Comanche and Mapuche.

Theres still some European powers like Britain on the scene so they can be playable alongside the new nations and natives.

Factions could fall into civil war so playing as the USA you could end up in a situation where you have a civil war.

Something like that would have a suitable scope for a TW game while also focusing on an area we haven't seen much in TW.

Already covered by the warpath campaign for Empire.

Thats only a snapshot, you can only play as natives on a small map and its not 19th Century.

There is a lot more there potentially. Its not my most wanted TW but I see the US Civil War come up a lot and I was thinking of a setting that could capture that period with a wider scope for other conflicts as well.

I doubt they are keen to burn their fingers with the PR mess that would be a game where one side fights to uphold slavery of a demographic whose direct descendants still live today.

Sounds boring tbh, only two sides and they both look the same and share basically the same overall culture. They would be better of making an Empire 2 style game and maybe make a DLC/Campaign expansion about this rather than a whole game about it.

Personally I'd love a total war game focusing more on the renaissance at large 1500-1700 ish to be exact, yes I know medieval two somewhat touches on it but theres lots of potential I think

I agree 100% with this. Even if i like the american civil war and era. It should be a DLC for a possible Empire 2 game in the future. There are also some great mods about this era for a couple TW titles out there.

The Vietcong basically fought just like they did under Napoleon.
Or the Zulu War.
Or the Korean War.
Otherwise is bankrupt of societies total war.
