"DRM Fail" crash

What the title says. The game loads with no issues up until I start a campaign. After the intro cinematic plays and the loading screeen appears, a "DRM Fail" error message pops up and closes the game. I've tried verifying the files, restarting and reinstalling the game, but nothing seems to work. I would appreciate any help to solve this issue

Then post this in the bugfixing forum and attach a dxdiag and crash dump if you have one.

Submit a support with SEGA (they're pretty good) and attach screenshot of the error and a dxdiag and crash dump as suggested above. Link to support here:

DRM Fail popup has been fixed before by doing a uninstall and than a reinstall. If its persistent, you may have something running in the background like scripting.

Same issue here. Rebooted PC, verified integrity of game cache and even reinstalled and still no luck. I have no scripting-whatever going on in the background

I got a reply from the support team. The solution ended up being setting the compatibility mode of the pharaoh.exe to always run as administrator
