Not necessarily. It will all depend on the next official mainline title put out by the main historical team at CA which has yet to be announced but will likely come out end of 2024 or in 2025. If this game flops then yes, the Total War franchise is basically dead. If it is a hit though then it could see a revitalization of the franchise. Legend of Total War put out a tier list video recently ranking the various years of the Total War series and shows that they basically have these five year cycles where we see major disaster launches. We are in about a 3 year low but 3K (the last mainline historical title from the main team) was largely successful and sold well. The Saga titles have been a failure since the start though and Pharaoh is a legacy of the Saga formula with the smaller team that made Saga Troy attempting to make a larger game (this obviously failed and Pharaoh is now priced like any other Saga title). I will still wait to hear from the main historical team on their next project before passing final judgement on the studio's future

Also an abstract point. If they release a pokemon total war it will get massive sales and high reviews just cause pokemon and anime fans will pay for and gobble up anything that has to do with cartoons or an opportunity to enslave and abuse animals. In the 1800s these same "people" would be participating in c ock fights and pit bull fights. Its the same reason the lackluster, essentially mobile game, warhammer total war was such a big hit. It had to do with warhammer and warhammer fans will buy anything that has "warhammer" in the name and play it indefinetely ever after. This "franchise" started as a histoical title for realistic massive scale combat. We will not see it again from ca. If only because the warscape engine is not designed for it and never was.
Tell that to AoS Realms of Ruin
Does AoS realms of Ruin have "warhammer" in its name? warhammer fans were confused that is why they failed to buy this title even though it was really a warhammer game.
Just block the haterazzi, let them shout at walls.

And yes, it has Warhammer in the title.

Regardless, CA is still most likely working on another more classic historical title.
This is nit picking. My point was metaphorical in that anything to do with warhammer gets lots of sales by default like pokemon. The thing about age of sigmar is that not many warhammer fans truly consider it warhammer. Its an outlier and therefore this example doesn't stand against my point.
"All is governed by one universal truth. All that begins must end. The Reign of the Old Shogunate is OVER!"
"The time of the orc has come."
