Ok. This is unusual, i haven't played Ursu but have played Bay who is on the coast and gets all the invasions. At which point are you getting overwhelmed? I mean as in turn and phase?
I haven't had a situation where i have had 6-7 sea peoples armies taking over. I have completed a legendary campaign with Bay with ultimate victory by turn 150.
The sea peoples start at turn 30 so ideally you want to have a stack and half around then. The AI will dog pile you if you look weak. If you have higher faction strength they will leave you alone.
I held them off until about turn 125, at which point they had 6-7 stacks heading directly into Damascus, completely ignoring any coastal settlements besides my own, which they razed a few turns before destroying my other two armies. my faction leader then retreated into Damascus, but at that point I had no way to defend any of my settlements. They steamrolled all of my tier 3's with guard towers and fort reinforcements. I'd post a pic if I could.
invaders destroyed not only my towns and cities but also provinces of AI
so there is a good strategy:
- meet invaders
- run away to AI province
- let invaders to destroy their towns and cities
- so destroyed province becomes neutral
- capture and colonize a new province
Sorry I do not play multiplayer campaign, so I cannot reply.
Now i play with Ioalas sea faction and they have OP units, specially infantry (super attack and defence, brutal armor, and very strong javelin throwing).
As Iskar said they go for the weakest a lot, I couldn't figure out why they often neutral to me and I even got asked for non aggression pacts on occasion but after seeing someone else say I checked the save and I was no1 for power
They left me alone completely when playing an easy campaign like Seti. They attack you mercilessly if you play as the Canaanites though. Kind of stupid considering the Egyptians were much wealthier.
