Battle tactics in Ancient Egypt?
Can someone suggest me historical battle tactics used in Ancient Egypt that could be applied in Pharaoh custom battles and campaign?

BIG wall of spearmen, and then hammer and anvil them with chariots. Works for me.

I mean you don't really have many options to choose from. Compared to the previous titles.

There's some fast light infantry that could hit and run on the flanks to maybe break them up? But yeah wall of spearmen, some good archers and something nice and heavy for the flank(s).

Some of those lads are nearly as quick as horses lol.

A yes tell me about them that no other total war has. Shogun 2 has Cavalry range/melee,
sword/axe/spear infantry, archers/rifles/pistols, infantry with bombs, loads of different sorts of artillery for all kind of problems, Naval warfare.

Yes I can, those books I bought finally coming in handy lol. I can recomend you a few too.

Egypts favourite tactic was to let the infantry advance while the archers fired volleys over-head into the enemy, softening them up. This was however against similar armies to theirs, such as other Egyptians, Kushites etc.

Against the sea peoples, Ramesses III, met the enemy on land while the sea peoples where landing with inf, not on the beech, but a little from it. Then flanking the sea peoples with archers from the sides while they where unloading and advancing. This was, from my understanding, because of the sea peoples heavy armour, which was easier to penetrate from sides.

While chariots usually where there to counter other chariots, when they broke through they rode behind the enemy raining arrows in their backs.

In the battle of Kadesh, their infantry tried to fotm something like a shieldwall before Hittite chariots smashed through and routed them.

I can look up more tomorrow if you want more. :)
