Depends what you mean.
There's no sign of single entities or superpowers in what's been revealed so far, so I don't think it's going to be a 3k/Troy/Warhammer.
Yes they seem to be highlighting specific leaders more than the factions they lead (thus far.) But they've been building factions around specific people, off and on, since Rome 1's Alexander campaign, and "heroes" with special powers first appear in Medieval 2: Kingdoms Crusades campaign.
Basically what I'm saying is even if the game has "heroes" there's a lot of different ways to do them, so best to wait and see what more they reveal before deciding it's another 3k/Troy/Warhammer.
All the Best,
Welsh Dragon.
I said McDonalds total war but maybe i should just say microtransactions total war. Even if there is no magic it will be like three kingdoms but we’ll see
I fear this as well. But that might mean some of us will venture to new pastures, unless its Warhammer (I don´t mind my fantasy being made like that) but for historical titles, there are just so many better alternatives.
Since when in Total War series DLCs have become micro transactions?
Or is this another non sensical keyboard blunders?
Although it does also seem that each faction will have a fixed special character as their leader, that can only be "wounded" in battle rather than outright killed. Likely using the justification that the campaign will take place during a very tight time frame lasting only a few years.
I don't really mind this. My two favourite Total War games did this (Napoleon and Attila) and they're both thoroughly historically immersive experiences.
I sincerely hope that's all that CA will do with this game, and not go a step beyond.
If you watch the first look it'll show you it is not like Three Kingdoms.
But for that you'd have to get off your high horse and actually consume their information.
This is actually good news and looks much better than Troy, I will give them that.
Still not interested in this on release, because of the current formula, but going back to bodyguards and limited leader abiilities (it is fine with inspire etc) might actually see older players be lured in.
I am happy that some of us was wrong about the singular hero take.
Heroes are out. The generals and named characters now have proper bodyguard units.
