Is Creative trying to avoid making Medieval III or Napoleon II?
Really, I think everyone here is waiting for one of these 2 games.

I don't think Troy or Pharaoh really give much appeal, considering also their half-fantasy aesthetics and very limited settings.

Idk, it just feels to me that the devs are trying their best to not make a sequel to the much more appreciated titles

Psh, you guys can all keep mentioning your love for Medieval 3, Napoleon 2, and Empires 2, but I'm gonna be a selfish bastard and want Rome 3 first.
that would still be more appealing than this one, assuming they add the features and mechanics they put in Attila

Here's to hoping that they are still experimenting with new historical mechanics and once they find the right formula they would finally finish the Med and empire.

I was waiting for Medieval 2 Remastered, but here we ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ go.

In short: yes.

Med3 or Emp2 must not fail. They should be something revolutionary, maybe something new, but at least they should be very good games. These with Rome and Shogun are their main titles.

Imo CA does not put enough effort making good games anymore, their policy is now profit first.

They know med3/emp2 would be nothing special, just another game. Tbh i do not even wish for these 2 now, not in that state.

Reminds me on Bannerlord...

Don't mind whatever era to be honest. Just as long as the game is good.

Pharaoh is set at a very crucial point in history that i think is interesting personally. A time way before classical Greek and Roman eras.

If it does just turns out as Troy+ then i will pass but if its fully fleshed out, stable and engaging to play then great.

If they delivered a good remake of either of those titles the speed of my money leaving my wallet would break the sound barrier.
Nostalgia time.

It is a decent game, but everything it does, Medieval 2 does better. Medieval 2 does so much, so well, that it is unsurpassable, and is why even if I want a Med3, I have no faith in it actually replacing Med2.

they'll never med3 because they know they'll do a bad job

I think the original total war dev are all been retired in Hawai drinking piña colada and hula dancing

What do you think about the remastered Rome 1 Feral Interactive put out? Supposedly the UI is way more clunky than the original, takes more steps to do stuff.
I played it for a bit, it is good, but then went back to Warhammer. Says it all.

that would mean they are purposefully selling small incomplete games just to test mechanics for other games

One would think so, yes. Medieval 3 would be their first game with number 3 in it. So it should be something different. Maybe a completely new engine? AI rewritten? But I doubt it. They are avoiding it because of religious and political connotations.
Amigo May 24, 2023 @ 4:37am
Well ther was a debacle related to Deus Vult in Crusader Kings 3. Woke Paradox and all that. Check it out. Besides CK3 has same sex marriages right? Or at least gay rulers? Will CA go for it?

Yeah. As sad as it is they know that if they screw up Medieval 3 they are finished xD So here we go. Avoid it as long as humanly possible.
