There's a trend lately to pile on on everything that is announced - gotta shine some light to those poor souls.
How many features has been introduced then taken away? Then re-added as an new feature? Hopefully will this game keep the diplomatic system from 3 kingdome, the tech tree from Empire and a building system from Rome 1. But nothing of this has been shown, only some re-added but dumb down version of numbers play mechanics.
Mostly all comments here, is some form of expression that they are tired of reskins of an game. They felt that much of mechanics has not been built on, instead they have either taken away or dumbed down.
This in combination that the battles are not enough anymore to sell an total war game. Mostly because historic fans find battle more enjoyable in exemple Total Medieval 2/shogun 2 or people who want big awesome battle find satification of this in Total Warhammer.
Thats why one of the reason historic fans want total game set in WW1 because it is one of few areas that total war game tried and failed when it comed to battles.
i felt ww1 or close to it would have been the next logical step after FOTS.
That would have gotten much better out of the engine I feel.
look at what they are adding in this game; armour heath bars
If we were driving tanks across the map, that'd make sense.
