Having fun, found Ninelie priest team to be super strong
Hello, just found this game a few days ago and picked it up. Having a lot of fun right now, took a couple runs to get used to the systems but now I have a pretty good hang of it.

One thing I found on my most recent run is that a team made entirely of Ninelie priests is extremely powerful (granted, I'm still making my way through the campaign on the 1st or second difficulty so that could certainly change later).

But first of all, a team of Ninelie priests brings a ton of beast companions to the fight, I often have more beasts on my team that I do team members (2 wolves, 1 bear, and then more wolves, bees, boars and bats brought in while fighting). This means my priests usually have a ton of meatshields in between them and the enemy, not to mention more damage against enemies. Taking the trait that reduces cooldown on attack can help get out more beasts faster on the ones that can repeatedly summon them.

The traits that buff beasts buff all beasts, not just the ones the priest summons, so getting all the beast buff traits across priests is a huge benefit (more health, more armor, more movement, more damage, heal all beasts at the end of turn). It makes beasts way more durable and damaging. In addition, the traits that buff nearby allies at the end of turn also become more effective the more units you have on the battlefield.

The trait beastialize makes that character count as a beast, meaning they benefit from all those beast buffs mentioned above AND they can also take part in the wild synergy attacks which makes all nearby beast allies attack the enemy. I think mounted characters might also count as beasts but I'm not 100% sure.

Finally, artifacts that gives benefits such as enemies getting poisoned when attacking allies or allies doing burning damage when they attack also count towards beasts which results in tons statats effects everywhere.

Again, I'm pretty new to the game so maybe there are team combos stronger than this, but honestly, just having a pure priest Ninelie team has been the strongest combination I've found so far, it just provides a ridiculous amount of synergy among all team members and the beasts they can summon. I've been able to wreck bosses in like 2 turns.

Having a lot of fun and looking forward to seeing what the other factions can do.

Pretty sure you have the right impression and especially so on the first or second challenge level.

I have just finished the fourth journey for Ninelle, and after the first two journeys bumped up the difficulty to the highest setting (3 out of 3). On this level the enemy buffs can sometimes present significant challenges even to a very strong team. For example, for a ranged damaged heavy team, there is an enemy buff that gets applied after taking ranged damage, and that can cause trouble. Howevr, Ninelle clan is indicated as the relative 'easy' mode relative to the other clans, and I think the Priests contribute a lot to that.

I have been using a mix of Priest, Hunter, Warrior and Guard and finding this very effective. However, I am sure a team of 4+ Priests could easily work wonders as a animal army, with battle start summons, kill summons, buffing and extra activations, plus being able to bring in extra animals you purchase beyond the battle hero cap. That reads like a lot of fun, and quite possibly worth a second play through just to experience. How many games let you do that? :-)

it's funny Ninelle clan is supposed to be a brawl clan but their strongest units are the priests. Meanwhile Evernight's dominant units are their guards and warriors even though they are depicted as a magic clan wtf. I am on the 5th Ninelle journey and their warriors are hitting 100+ AOE damage per turn, it was crazy..

I have played with all three clans, and one way of looking at Ninelle is that compared to the other two, their mechanics are very simple. Almost all their abilities either do damage or are just one step removed from doing damage. For example, the various summons are simple to use, and do direct damage, some with another simple effect like stun or no retaliation.

In contrast, at the other end of the scale Bronion's mechanics are rather complex, including their ability to merge two characters into one dual-character. Many of their powers require specific positioning, like adjacency, or planning and manipulation of deployable objects like bombs. In my last Bronion stage, I had one hunter that entered 'Canon mode' after not moving, reducing her movement but also adding range and damage, and another that added all the damage of the friendlies between her and a target. Awesome, but often requiring really careful placements.

Evernights aura's, low health and healing are also a little more complex than the straightforward damage dealing of NInelle, benefiting from overlapping and being very careful about what hits are taken.

My own view then, is that the clans distinct mechanics do align well with their suggested character, and they are wonderfully different to play :-)

I would say they are even easier and actually more simpler to play as they just kill everything in sight with their sniper range and massive DPS

With sybil you can instantly dish out 50+ damage from infinite range that keeps ramping up, and she will end up with like 200 HP ( with regen lol )

The hunters with triple shot can easily burst down any singluar units ( especially earth one )

The Ice guard with infinite range can give massive DPS boosts

I dont think i ever spent more than 2 rounds every battle ( save for the survivival levels or winter general ) playing evernight, and 3 rounds at max for bosses as they dish out insane DPS to the hundreds per turn
