How do you get hungry students to eat?
Fully upgraded cafeteria, loads of drink and snacks machines. a school store that sells food and drink, a school supermarket that sells drink. Yet hungry students jut pass by it all. Occasionally one of them will think to go to the cafeteria during lunch, etc. But they pass the vending machines to slowly get there. What good are the vending machines if they are not used?

Sure it may cut into your profit but they won't end up passing out from starving.

Also I'm not sure but also have enough lunchbox holders for the class rooms, students that pack lunch do complain if there is not enough lunchbox holders in their class room.

is cafeteria so far or forget to set sell menu? where they go at break time? is they need another thing to do too?
and just like real human, sometime we want eat fully food, not fast food or snacks from vending machines.

I think snacks and beverages currently have different stats they satisfy.

Snacks satisfies the snack needs (vending machines or store items, but not food needs (cafeteria or food tent). Beverage satisfies the beverages needs (vending machines or store items), but not drinking water needs (tea room or water dispensers). If your food tents and cafeteriaa are too far or unreachable, your students wont get the food needs.

I think snack items only for happiness buff.

I mean, even I only gets satisfied if a meal includes rice. Any food in between are just snacks.

I have 4 students that passed out of hunger... every one else goes to the cafeteria. but they just play outside. I have 48 seats (1 cafeteria) for 74 students in 3 classes. before the last patch, I had 90+ without anyone getting hungry, did they change that ? If so, they need to allow us for bigger cafeterias, or maybe change the game to a restaurant theme XD

Edit : I opened up a 2nd cafeteria ... everybody ate ... PLEASE DON'T DO THAT TO US. Expand the size of the cafeteria, it is nonsense that I need 2 cafeterias per 3 full classroms. Or do 2 separate services so 90 people can fit in 1 cafeteria.
Edit 2, the lunch break is 1h30 you could really allow 2 services ! How many cafeterias are we gonna need for 200 people ... 4 to 5 ???? i don't wqnt to pack the most tables possible inside 1, it's not realistic... please reconsider that

Taking all the replies into account I think I fixed the problem, for now. I reconstructed the food tent, sticking it right next to the school and putting the most over qualified staff member ever out there to run it. Making sure it only makes the cheap buns for the poor students. I moved the Cafeteria more to the central point of the first floor, the size restriction is still stupid. And also made sure every single class had a lunch box rack. Hoping this is more of a permanent fix but I guess I will see.

Dude, I started getting this problem myself.

I noticed that after I upgraded every classrooms to no decor and only the necessities but lavish grade (so that each class only have the most expensive seats, blackboard, and podium plus temperature stuff and lighting). My extremely poor students started to go hungry and pitifully clutching their stomach during recess/breaks. I moved the cafeteria onto the second floor of the teaching building, and build a food tent at the back, and opened a new store that only sells food, but no luck.

Finally I checked out the happiness meter, the face icon next to the student number.

It seems @p020901's answer was correct. The poor students complained that their class had no lunchbox holder. I had thought these were just decor so I deleted them prior since the class level is at max. I clicked the negative moodlet and it brought me to one of the girl who were starving. She did not have any money.

I kinda like that ... I mean, in reality some really don't have the money to buy lunches so making the removal of the lunchbox holder a fail, is in a sense a good thing.
Thanks for the tip !
they could also do free cafeteria for scholarships !

I know right !
The first thing I thought of when I see her 0 daily allowance was that how can I give students money or allowances. I mean, I wasnt accepting their admission because I needed money, I wanted them to have educations. I wanted the high moral feelings when comparing myself to other AI headmasters if that makes sense haha.

I wasn't even conscious about the daily allowances mechanics of students. And teachers for that matter. I had thought of them merely as flavor texts.
