Crash at launch the game
I get the following error message at the start:

Failed to enumerate adapters

Please check your graphics driver is up to date and your machine meets the minimum requirements.

This was my error message.

Know someone this message? Do someone know how to solve this problem?

I have the following specs:

Windows 10 x64 Pro 22H2
Intel Core i7 4771
32 GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia GTX 1080 from Asus
Samsung SATA SSD for operating system
Samsung SATA SSD for games
Samsung 4k TV as Display (connected to Nvidia card, NOT to the iGPU)

The following things I tried without success:
- restart game
- restart steam cient
- restart PC
- check the DX state with dxdiag (I have active DX12 with feature level 12.1)
- reinstall the game
- reinstall the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2015 - 2022
- reinstall Steam client
- reinstall graphics driver

I have the same problem, my friend. I tried all of them, but I couldn't solve the problem. I gave up because I was afraid of breaking the system. I'm waiting for the update to come.

Apparently you have to delete a folder belonging to AoM from C:/users/... lemme see if i find the post

C/users/your username/documents/games/age of mythology retold

When you find that folder, delete it. Or at least just rename it temporarily and then get into the game and try again.

Mmh, I delete the folde, no effect. I install just now the first patch... no effect. The gam still not starts. But thank you for the hint. I'm happy about every hint.

I get the same. Nothing works. How the F can you release a game in a state where it cant even launch.

Lucky, you at least got an error message, for me it just starts launching, then silently stops.

I'm having the same issue too, when I try to play the campaign, and even playing a skirmish alone

Same here, tried everything listed on the support article, and even reached out to the Age of Empires support team by email, but the game still crashes at launch. Hoping they will drop a pach to fix this when the game officialy comes out.

you shouldnt need to solve problems to play a game you paid for. its insane. im horrible at this type of stuff to begin with

As stated on my previous comment, i've followed every step of the support article and submitted a ticket, with less than satisfying results. This is an issue with the game, not on my end. I shouldn't have to waste more of my time trying to fix a game that i paid for.

And a reminder back at ya that we dont work for these guys, file your own tickets while we advertise problems with the game in every possible channel there is to make sure all potential customers know about it. If you want that to stop, fix the game.

I had to search up driver updates and bios update etc eventually it just cleared the cache where the error was i guess or something
