Is ranking dead?
I took a break from the game for a while and now it seems like it's empty, 10+ minutes to find a match, the best I can find is some random room in browse with large map (why is that even an option?) and nothing else

Intriguing question... The question I have is whether there is even a ranking system in place. What the game needs is an option to specify that you want an opponent with the same civilization. That way, you can have a 'real' ranking

I hate when you need to wait 2+ minutes for a match. Give me a game after max 30 seconds!

The sheer inbalance in ranking is shocking......I am ranked 900 (playing Gaia) and have to play a 1800 + ranked Loki......total waste of time. Don't need to tell you it is IMPOSSIBLE to win.

This game has less concurrent players than AoE3, where AoE3 has 4.7k players playing, hence why multiplayer matches take so long.

keep in mind, those are only steam numbers, that doesnt include xbox, playstation, or game pass

Sadly AoM is considered singleplayer only (or coop vs AI) by most of the playerbase. I do hope though that after the Chinese release there will be a spark in players growth, in ranked games too

The reason it takes so long is because it is losing playerbase fast, the only people playing are playing campagins or singleplayer

No surprise even i tried AOM Extended edition again just to feel how the old Gaia was. At least you had a fair chance to win.
