Sun Wukong has been celebrated for hundreds of years, and has his roots in pre-BC mythology. I think that qualifies him. Also he was (in the admitedly garbage china expansion) present in the old china expansion.
China will grow larger.
That's like saying a game about Celtic myth should include Sauron just because the author was English. Sun Wukong is a modern story not an ancient myth.
The DLC seems based primarily on pre-Buddhist Chinese mythology, the Investiture of the Gods in particular. The Journey to the West isn't just post-Buddhist, it's practically Buddhist propaganda.

...Journey to the West is heckin old, and we've got solid evidence of stories about the guy from before that...

It is possibly Taoism which took place at around the same time as Buddhism (founder believed to have lived sometime between 5th and 6th century BC or BCE) and Confucianism (Confucius lived from 551-479 BC or BCE according to the WIkipedia), because it apparently its significance was not really noticed until as early as 450 BC or BCE. Meaning that Taoism which according to Wikipedia that was known to worship deities is actually not older than Buddhism and Confucianism. Confucianism in contrast based on what I looked up online about them seems to have more similarities with that of Buddhism overall than Taoism that involved the teachings of Confucius that does not seem to include the worship of other gods; although, it is worth mentioning that Taoism apparently has some similarities with Confucianism as well despite it sometimes being used to worship other gods. Buddhism on the other hand seems to overall have more similarities towards that of Atheism and Agnosticism than polytheism, monotheism, and Taoism. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taoism

he might be saved for a 4th god dlc though its funny as he did show up in tale of the dragon
Nearly all the minor gods from the Chinese expansion were changed except for Huang Di, of course most people ignore that because Sun Wukong is popular

Sun Wukong is the most out of place as he has no meaningful relationships with any of the major gods, nevermind that he along with Guan Gong (Guan Yu) and Guanyin are all Buddhist influenced which are out of place for this game

Though if Jade Emperor is a 4th major Chinese god he can be a part of it as a god or hero

Going to need a source for the latter where his exact name is mentioned that is not Journey to the West or something that is a few centuries earlier

Chinese mythology doesn't revolve around the Monkey King, whose story is much closer to Chinese Buddhism than to Chinese folk religion. Chinese mythology has been passed down since ancient times for millenia while Journey to the West was written in the XVIth century Ming China.
Stop reducing vast and rich traditions into the things you only recognise. It's like you people's brains have been preprogrammed to NOT learn anything new.
He'd be more fitting to be a Demigod than a minor god
To be fair, all other mythological chinese heores in this game are also characters who have become famous in the world mostly due to XVI century fairy tales described in a few books (at least Ne-Zha, Jiang Zǐya). Monkey King is 100% the most popular hero from chinese mythology outside China. Even I have read part of "Journery to the West" in english. I suppose Sun Wokung will be unique hero for 4-th chinese major God, is such dlc ever be released. If we get 5-th and 6-th races, that means 5 more god packs, which seems unlikely due to relatively low popularity of the game. That is unfortunate, my favourite games are fantasy RTS of many subgenres, but even total war: warhammer 3 with much greater budget is not in the best shape since release date, even now. Honestly, if I was able to change past and shape reality, I chose remove arena of the gods and "unlock portraits" events and isntead add 1-2 god packs or release chinese pantheon with 4 major gods.

Worth to get this DLC or ?
If you like mythical creatures - definatley yes. Chinese winged dragons and 9 children of great dragon (most units in dlc) are extemely rare in games outside China, while are well known in mythology.
