No way 2nd civ will be japanese, all civs are very unique, chinese and japanese are very similar

It's true Japan isn't the best or most original choice but you have to remember MS is a company first and foremost so I wouldn't be so quick to assume Japan as the 2nd DLC is an unlikely choice.

They should alternate between continents imo, something like releasing Immortal Pillars then release a DLC for an eastern civ like Babylon or the Assyrians/Persians, then a Precolombian civ's, then another asian civ ... etc.

If they ever add Japanese, it would be for way further down the line. I imagine the second culture to be added will be vastly different.

Personally I hope for Celts or Persians. Or another middle eastern culture.

They are based on different pantheons, the Titans are completely different from the Olympians.

Meanwhile, the japanese from the time of Hoplites and Ptolemaic Egypt, were literally a copy of the chinese when it came to religion.

What people see as "japanese mythology" proper, is from the 1500s onward, and if you are3 going to introduce that, you may aswell get Caravels, Musketeers, Culverins and Christianity to the Norse, Greeks and Atlanteans.
