As they indicated in the store page, there will be one more DLC civilization after the Chinese, of which nothing's been unveiled yet.

depends if there will be enough interest to justify future DLCs, they have a lot space for DLCS, even give major gods to existing nations.
There will be at least one more dlc after the Chinese dlc. If the dlc sell well and it's profitable they'll most likely make more.

a 6 civilization is guaranteed but who knows after that

sounds like not good .
Considering the popularity of Age of Mythology Retold and the Age series as a whole right now, there's a pretty good chance we'll see more DLC's
Age of Empires II actually is getting their own new DLC right now as well as Age IV I think? So even the older games are still getting love. That to me reinforces the idea that we'll see more stuff down the line

As far as we know currently, yes. There will be one more civilization after the Chinese and then nothing confirmed.

And given the state of affairs, I'm not too optimistic that we'll see more. I think we'll be lucky after all if they release more major gods for the existing civilizations. But my opinion on the matter is as good as anyone else's.

How do you measure popularity though? To me, Retold is a success, but it also seems the multiplayer aspect has not been doing particularly great. Only the DLC sales will tell if the devs could be interested in doing more, but the slow pace, poor quality and little communication of the updates make me think they might already be stretched thin as they are. They don't give me the vibe of "we're fully invested into this". But I guess we'll see.

Sigh... I was hoping for Indian mythology, Sumerian mythology, and South American mythology, but it looks like none of them are there... Sigh...

New DLCs releases rely on how much money the game brings in, that depends of how big the playerbase is, that in turn depends on Microsoft Sure giving access to PS5 players and targetting Chinese audience is the thing to do yet will it be enough ?
I pray so.

That's the reason why AoE 3's DLC was cancelled, the game was stagnating and half dead after so many years, the number of players at an all time low despite having already 4 DLCs.

Age of Empires 2 in general has more campaigns/stories than any other rts game ever

AoE2 is a forever game. Literally was made to be evergreen and have enough content to keep you coming back until you die.
It all depends on sales. If there will be a good for a DLC type there will be more than one or two. but tbh I don't expect them to be on the same level as basic/new atlantis campaign.
