Oh look "HEAVY CHINESE ACCENT FOCUS CHARACTER" is coming to save us from these "HEAVY CHINESE ACCENT MYTHOLOGICAL MONSTER", while all the rest is in a more neutral asian english speaking voice.
Either do it completely in chinese with english subs or more like the original americanized english VA campaign.
Wanted to say, this is kinda the weird thing about voice acting overall in this game compared to the original. They went for an accent for wherever each character was from whereas the old ones went for a more theatrical haminess that was charming in its own way.
I am not a level 0 account?
I 100% agree with you. The tones in the voice and how theyre communicated is all fairly one note. The characters aren't making me feel the same emotions theyre experiencing in scenes as it comes off disingenuous. It lacks the charm the OG originally had.
Yeah, they partnered with a Chinese/Singaporean dev team to work on this.
