Advice on Mission 32 (A Place in my Dreams)
Hi all,

Once again, I am reaching out for tips/hints/cheese for the Titan campaign.

Finally made it to mission 32 (A Place in my Dreams) on Titan. Any advice for this mission? From the video guides I've seen, it's recommended to just steamroll the enemy as soon as possible w/o bothering with the wonder - but any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Few things to note from my Titan win:
-You want to keep your allies alive as long as possible to absorb attacks and provide troops, the Norse ones suffer the most from assaults so keep a detachment in their base to help them out, you may also want to repair their buildings to keep them alive and producing units because they won't do it themselves.

-The Son of Osiris you get from the Egyptian ally is incredibly useful, do whatever it takes to keep him alive as long as possible, keep him in the back-line of your main force and let him slaughter everything but especially myth units with impunity.

-There's another settlement in the south underneath the Egyptian base that you should claim quickly and put most of your economy there, its nestled out of harms way compared to your main base, which should be orientated towards producing military units.

-Just focusing on being able to survive initially and age up quick, the enemy won't let up on their attacks and they'll get stronger as they age up so you'll want to be able to match them.

-When you have a reasonable force you can start to slowly push out, head northeast into the gap where the enemy assaults will be coming from and try to meet them head on. Destroy as many production buildings as you can and make absolutely sure you destroy the temple, you'll get free meteor god powers from destroying temples.

-When you've cleared out this area head south and start destroying the enemy buildings further down the road, its a good place to use the meteor here to mash them up, you'll even get another meteor from destroying another temple. You can claim another settlement too. There's also a plenty vault in a road slightly northward around here, guarded by some towers and a few units, quickly grab that too for free resources, the enemy won't take it back.

-After you've broken the back of resistance in this area move most of your units back to base because you really don't want to be caught out when the enemy launches a massive attack from a different direction. You'll still want a few high value units to smack through the rest of the enemy base you've been destroying, especially since the enemy being Poseidon means their buildings will spawn annoying militia when destroyed. I found Giants and Hydras good for this, but then Hydras are good for everything!

-Soon after you can pull off an attack like this Gargarensis will destroy both of your allies with his god powers. This leaves you much more vulnerable to attack but also means you can claim their old settlements too. The former Norse settlement will be hard to hold against the incoming assaults, so if you do take it you will need to reinforce it with lots of forts and towers and troops.

-The attacks will just keep coming and won't let up, but when you have a breather I'd strongly recommend trying to clear out the north part of enemy base in a similar manner as you did to the south, destroy every building as quickly as you can to deny them production, use meteor, destroy temples of more meteors, destroy the town centers and seize the plenty vaults.

-You can create donkey caravans if you are running through all of the gold on the map, I had a route running up to the former norse TC from south of the southernmost TC to get the most possible gold, but you'll need to defend it well since the enemy will give killing trade units high priority.

-The entire mission is a massive grind-fest, you'll need to be essentially endlessly pumping out soldiers to replace your own massive losses. I found I like using the Myrmidon units and toxotes alongside Medusa and Hydras. Make absolutely sure you have all of your heroes alive at any one time but especially Bellerophon who's an absolute powerhouse. Do not be afraid to use your god powers like Healing or Bronze if things are looking bad, and lightning storm if you are desperate.

-You'll need a massive economy to be able to simultaneously create the military to withstand the enemy attacks and make your own, as well as create the actual wonder itself, probably upwards of 60-80 villagers. That's why I think that the trade caravan is a good idea, and you'll want to capture as many vaults as possible. Don't build the wonder until you are confident that you have enough in the bank to support production and task all of your villagers unto it.

-When its finished you can go hog wild, both because of the uber-Arkantos power destroying entire armies, but also because now all your god powers are much cheaper and renew much faster, as well as your myth units getting more powerful. Launch the final assault on the acropolis, make sure to destroy the temples to get about 3 more meteors and send Arkantos to fight the statue, this will win the mission after a little while.

Hope that helps!

Neither of your allies will EVER attack until you destroy a fortress on their "side" of the map, so don't rely on them if you are only trying to defend. Don't go for the Wonder victory, go on the attack and start shutting down the nearby enemy bases. Your Norse ally gets its ass kicked by the attack waves, so be ready to defend them and prioritise pushing the western base first. You don't have to clear it out all at once, destroy a few buildings and come back to defend the next wave if you need to - just make a bit of progress between attack waves (for example, push up to and take the plenty in the west base, then just leave it - they don't deliberately recapture, only accidentally pass through once armies get larger).

Once the western base is completely dead, you can concentrate troops better and take the central plenty (to handle the main base attack waves) and slow push into the eastern base to destroy that as well. Once you get to the stage where only the main base is a threat, you will find that a typical army can handle their attack waves as they approach the central plenty with ease - and you no longer suffer from any flank attacks. Your allies will eventually get god-powered to death, but you should have all the plenty vaults so you can infinitely restore your army.

Once that happens, you can either wait to get all the resources for the Wonder (it takes a long time) or just take your army and start wrecking the main base, then suicide constantly into the statue once everything else is dead. I find the latter quicker and easier than actually gathering that many resources.

The hardest part of the mission is getting out of your base and not getting flanked by the constant attack waves. Consider investing in some walls, either to try and force the AI to path into your army - or just to act as something that they need to attack while you scramble back into position. They're quite cheap for this purpose, and if it buys you just another twenty seconds to destroy some buildings and get back to fight it, you'll be making constant progress. All the difficulty is frontloaded in the mission, once you eliminate a "flank" you can just wall it off and concentrate your armies with ease.
