Report a translation problem
on the unit icons in the list of units you selected.
(i think there is an option to switch between control and shift,
for me it is control click, i am not sure what the default is)
One of them selects only that unit type, and removes the rest from your selection,
while the other only removes the unit type you click on, and leaves the rest.
There are several other ways to go about this though.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
There is also a hotkey, i believe the default is "shift + control + space".
(i reconfigured it myself, to the button of the tab button, for easy access)
With this, you can select all the units on the map,
that have the same unit type as the ones you have selected.
So for example: if you have 1 hoplite and 1 toxotes selcted,
using this hotkey will select all hoplites and toxotes across the whole map.
This is less useful if you want multiple control groups, with the same units,
but it can still be very useful, for example if you want
control group 1 to be all your infantry+archers,
control group 2 to be all your cavalry, etc...
But at the very least, it is a LOT more useful than the "all army" hotkey.. (imo)
-------------------------------------------------------------------
This next method could replace, or be combined with, the previous method:
You can rally (f.e.) a barracks onto a unit, that is in a control group,
and all units produced from that barracks will be automatically added
to the same control group that unit belongs to; (even after it dies)
and it will send the produced units automatically towards your armies.
This way, you wont have to constantly add units to your control groups, manually;
instead they will be added to your control groups automatically.
You could even have (f.e.) 2 stables,
and each one is rallied to a different control group of cavalry units.
This method will save you a LOT of (unnecessary) trouble..
-------------------------------------------------------------------
These should at least help you with your micro. ;)
(i know that these little "tricks" helped me quite a bit so far)
But that u can arange it in a way that new units directly go into a control group is really huge.
Thx a lot for that detailed answer !! :)
