The "+" in the upper left corner of the screen

Hello, this may be a stupid question but I can't figure out what effect the "+" in the upper left corner of my screen has during a game, I can choose one or two but no more

I was interested in this as well but I finally was able to discover the answer on my own. Clicking that plus has roughly the same effect as creating a new unit group at the lowest possible number with the currently selected units. If the currently selected units already are an existing group, then that existing group will also be removed. So if you click multiple times while having no group, it will oscillate between group 1 and group 2.

It's not a plus, it's a cross! It's what you press when you want to pray to Jesus not to lose the game!

Jokes aside, I think it creates a new control group with your selected units/buildings. It's what you can do with ctrl+number keys.
