random crash with unlimited pop mod
I play with the unlimited pop cap, and the game stop randomly. Time in game can be 5 min or 40. I haven't found yet what do that. But it's a strange crash. The game is like in pause. I can click on units, I can rotate de camera, i can go in the menu.. But the game crash when I quit a menu. I actually tried skyrmish with 4 bots in normal difficulties. Maybe it's a special units or an upgrade which do the bug, explain the random timer in game ? idk
I will try with a 1vs1 right now

i think it has something to do with a special moment when a bot chooses a god or tech which lowers the popcap, so you got something like 0 - 1 = - 1

but this is somehow the fix too, i fixed it this way and it is still running (maybe just lucky).
you change the 0 that is set for every unit and replace it with 1.
it is easy to do in notepad ++ for example.
accessing the proto file is harder, i don't know where it is stored (knew it for aoe3)
BUT we have the modded proto file that is easy to access
go to mod menu ingame and choose the mod, there you can open the path it is saved
look for the proto file and open it with notepad, search for <populationcount>0</populationcount> and replace it with <populationcount>1</populationcount>
notepad can change every line at once.
the problem now, you got the limit problem again, well a bit lighter, but still
now search for <unit name="House"> and <unit name="Manor"> and set the buildlimit to something like this <buildlimit>100</buildlimit>
change what you want to
NOW you have to copy the folder called something like number-nopopcap and copy it to local (you are in the subscribed folder)

hope this can fix it for you too and you can soon send massive armies to the fields, i know, it is some work to get done but for me it works right now

one last tip, it seems the campaign got some restrictions on houses and maybe manors too, the camapign overwrites the limit
to "activate" it in the campaign maybe the towncenter has to be changed
well should be easier to build X houses too and you can directly start with building armies

I have the same problem, unlimted pop mod and the game randomly freeze.
Happens sometime after 10-11min and sometime around 30mins for me

As far as I know, mods are currently not supported or up to date for Age of Mythology; Retold. Your Unlimited pop mod comes from Age of Mytholgy Extended Edition?

IDK it's from the menu in the game, there is a panel mods

Interesting. It could be the developer of the mod that hasn't sorted things out. I would contact them to report it as the devs have NOTHING to do with the mods players make.

Did you play retold yet? There is literaly a tab called mods in the game menu

The mod have actually more than 800 downloads. I would like to have a feedback from them. Could it be a graphics or an option issue ?
I still think it's a units or upgrade issues, with the random crash timer. Maybe a unit/upgrade which the dev had forget and when a player or a bot do the unit/upgrade the game crash ?
Even when I load a save, the game crash at the same timer.
Could It be a save issue ? like corrupt savegame ?

the thing is it's not funny to try differents settings. When the game do well for 40min, I just want to play the game lol. And zbam crash :(

Just did a game of 1.30 hour with more than 600 pop and no problems. I was playing hades and i was against Seth and Ra.

same problem 1v1 40 min game freeze and crash so it will fix when vs more AI in game?

playing me as zeus vs hades(ai) vs hades(ai) vs hades(ai) vs hades(ai) vs hades(ai) vs hades(ai)
I was only producing four different units and had been autoquing them for a while (vilager, donkey, hoplite and hippeus) when the crash happened.
I also had alot of upgrades qued in the armory, so it might be one of the armory upgrades for zeus? Need to do more testing but this the info I have for now

The minor gods I picked was Athena, Dionysus and Hera

I played a game as Gaia, against hades, poseidon and zeus. I had the time to kill 2 people and the game crashed at 48 min
