It's such an amazing remake and yet the devs choose to keep this absolute stain on an otherwise wonderful product by using art that is so obviously AI made that it feels offensive. C'mon team, don't cheap out on finding an actual real-life artist that can make these iconic portraits some justice.

Not just the god portraits, but the artwork for the upgrade icons also look to be AI.

You'd think with Microsoft backing they'd be able to afford to pay actual artists...

AI art is nothing new at this point and a lot of people develop that sixth sense where you see something and your immediate guess is that something feels off, uncanny valley kinda deal.

I'm certain I'm not alone with booting the game up, seeing the portraits and getting a suspicious hunch before going out to double check whether others feel the same. Only for it to be confirmed.

i.e. it looks too sterile in places where it shouldn't be, while other aspects seem wonky. The overall art direction does look like it sampled several thousand google search results of the chosen God's name for a piece that feels very generic and soulless. So on and so on.

While I like these works a lot better, I can’t stand the inaccurate anatomy & perspective.
Not to mention the stubborn denial from the devs over the *obvious* use of AI.
Do they think we’re all just too stupid to notice anything, or care about it?

The Dionysus and Loki ones are the worst offenders, the beta ones look better (although beta Dionysus could use some work with his facial expression)

Loki also looked more imposing in beta, i get that they are going for the whole mischievous look but something looks off.

I also don't like the new freya and hekate

They should just give us all the portraits so we can choose which ones we want

It's not really a difference in taste. It's what Microsoft has tried to do with this art, and trying to hide it by saying they never used it...

You're so full of ♥♥♥♥ lol. The art looks like any other cartoony style game art. There is no way you can discern whether its AI or an artist drawing them. Stop whining like a little girl, because everything is going to be AI in the future. You can't stop this. Go waste your time on something else.
