Issue with Sound Quality in Bose Headphones While Playing a Game
I'm experiencing a problem with my Bose headphones when playing a game on Steam. The sound quality becomes horrible, especially the bass, and the overall audio sounds distorted. I've already disabled the microphone and reset all audio configurations in the game, but the issue persists. Interestingly, when I close the game, the sound returns to normal.

It's an issue that plagues almost every Microsoft game. They forcibly enable hands-free telephony and cause this issue with audio.

To fix it, go to your devices and printer settings. This can be accessed by going to:

Bluetooth settings > View more devices > More device and printer settings

Right click on your device, go to properties, then click on services, and disable the Hands-free Telephony option. Restart your Bluetooth device and the game, and hopefully it will work.

This is how I fixed my own issue.

Thank you, this works. Unfortunately it looks like I have to redo it every time I start the PC.
Have never had this happen with any other app, would be great if we didn't have to mess with our hardware settings.

I have no 'services' tab after going into properties for the headphones?? Am using Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones. Am on Windows 11.

My particular case. The audio works fine for a couple seconds on start up and then the audio changes and becomes muffled and broken.

Works fine through my monitor speakers but they suck for audio quality.
