Where is Blood/Bones?
Is that fully censored or optional setting?

Saw this image and it really makes me reconsider buying the game

Corpse decay has been absent from all the DE versions of the Age of series, however AoMRT seems to be the first one to scrub all instances of blood and skeletons, down to the scenario editor.
Sucks, but really small detail imo

In vanilla retold there actually is corpse decay, but it is simply very fast.

There is already a few mods, that make corpses last 10 minutes.
I tried them out, they do impact performance, even if only a little bit,
the biggest issue is that they also clutter the screen so much,
that you can hardly see units, and which unit belongs to which player..
So i do not really mind the lack of corpses, it is a nice detail, sure,
but if you are really looking at them while playing, youre doing it wrong. xD

i have actually been thinking about making a new mod,
based on those other ones, but instead of 10 minutes, maybe 1 or 2 minutes.

I mean, it's corpse decay on paper, but it's certainly not corpse decay. The bodies just fall into the ground leaving nothing behind.

fair enough, they do not actually decay, and leave behind a skeleton.
A corpse that decays in a few seconds is also a bit weird, if you think about it...
So even if it did decay, there would still be a short time before they decay,
so it would still clutter the screen. Try out that mod, and youll see what i mean..

Anyways, having a ton of corpses on the ground,
decaying or not, does impact game performance.
(if they decayed, it would probably have an even bigger impact)
And the bigger the battle, the more corpses, so the bigger the impact,
while big battles are already more demanding for your PC..
So adding corpse decay limits potential gameplay, for little benefit.
The devs most likely didnt add it, for this exact reason.

It would be a cool detail, sure, but it is simply not necessary, imo.
When im playing, i dont have time to be looking at corpses, im looking at the living.. xD

Old games had corpse decay and i was playing it on literal potato PCs back then.
Makes no sense why its so lazy now, with corpse just sinking in ground

I was watching live streams form the Beta it took me quit a awhile to notice the lack of the corpse decay that’s so sad even Dawn of War from 2004 has it and they have options to turn off the corpses and the gore just 2 extra settings. I Personally love walking past old battlefields and seeing the destruction caused.

(also most strategy game that have a undead faction I usually main. Paise the mummy sad no skellies and no bones D:)

I still hope it’s get implemented for now I just watch live streams and play the old game.

It makes perfect sense if youre marketing and selling your game to numerous countries.

Feels like they removed the bones and blood because pathetic scum chinese government and market is touchy about that.

BUT they could just make seperate censored edition for those garbage countries

Its a small thing but added what I can only describe as character to the game, I would love to see it here as well.
A toggle for censoring it would work too.

I hope mods can fix this problem

They can't. Never did for AOE 2 DE. Still on the HD version and will never change.

Same reason I won't be touching AOM Retold.
