The Ancient Relics
I am going through the new Atlantis campaign on Hard difficulty, and was absolutely sweeping through until the Ancient Relics mission. If the enemy AI were the same as it was in the first game, it would be very similar difficulty wise, but they made the enemies attack your resource base across the river at the same as time as your temple base on the other side. As a result, no matter what strategy I try, one of the two bases always seems to fall, especially when multiple enemy teams attack at the same time (at worst was when two teams attacked the temple and two teams attacked the resource base at the same time)
Does anyone have any suggestions?

This was the strategy I used. The following quote is from the comments under this mission in the fandom Wiki:
"Here's what I did to complete the level on Titan difficulty in 10:35:
1a. Construct a manor, barracks and dock as in the guide. Have your dock create a Siege Bireme and take your Citizens across the river to have them collect whatever resources you're in need of. You will want to make as many of your military units into Heroes as you can, your bottleneck being favour at this point.

1b. At the same time, after making as many of your starting units Heroes as you can and rush Marmashu's walls. Your units will easily be able to kill the enemy's defending units. Take the relic and garrison it in your temple.

2. When your Siege Bireme has trained, have it attack the gate guarding Saqqara's relic (make sure to be west enough that the Migdol can't attack it). I had it target the dock after but I'm not sure if it was necessary.

3a. Train some Contariuses. While they're training take your units to where the Siege Bireme was attacking the gate without being attacked by the Migdol. Have them rush in and attack the defending units, while one unit takes the relic. As soon as that unit has the relic and is behind the rest of your units, retreat all of your units back to the transport ship and back to your temple to garrison the relic.

4a. After garrisoning the relic, take one of your Contariuses to Avaris and use your Earthquake god power on their walls, make sure you get the Migdol close to the relic too. This will kill any units following you as well as your own unit.

4b. Saqqara sent a couple of units to my base at this point, but the remaining units easily took care of them.

5. Take the rest of your Contariuses, making them into Heroes, and rush to the relic. Have one go straight for the relic while the rest distract the many enemy units there. It doesn't matter if the rest of your units die, as long as you get the relic holder out of there and back to the temple. If you fail just try again with any more Contariuses you train.

6. After you've garrisoned the relic, take all the units you have to the Desert relic. Use the Ancestors power here to make it easy (and quick). Just get one of your Heroes to take the relic and get back to temple and you've won, no need to kill the animals of Set that spawn."

I'm struggling a lot with it too, any other mission in that Expansion so far on Hard was fairly easy.

so i tried the above strategy on titan difficulty after being stuck on this mission for two days, but with a twist.#
at the start convert all your military units into heroes, rush north, have your melee units attack the walls and archers attack any oncoming sphinxes, ass soon as the wall is down rush your melee units in to grab the relic and as soon as you hear the pickup sound spam click on your temple.
while doing this build a docks and train 2 Siege Bireme and have them rush to the enemy docks the west and have them attack the walls.
as this is happening take your starting units and attack Souths walls, using your melee to draw out units while archers kill myth units, as soon as the wall is down rush your melee in to grab the relic and run back to the temple.
by this time the walls and dock to the west should be destroyed, take your starting melee units into your transport ship and dock just out of range from the Migdol, grab the relic and haul ass back to the boat.
then hail Mary, train some Contariuses. turn them into heroes, while this is happening train a few automatons to suicide the east base, take 1 at a time, as soon as the Midgol is in sight use either tornado or earthquake to bring down the walls, if the Midgol hasn't fallen, rush your 2nd automaton to spam the 2nd god power.
grab your 2-3 heavy Contariuses. rush the relic as soon as your hear the pick up noise haul ass back to your temple and bam. jobs done

no neeed to build a village, justa single barracks docks and manor, if macro goes well , you can take three relics with just the starting units, meaning anything you train outside of the last push, is used for defences, i even had an attack which cost me my barracks, and had wiggle room to pull a villager over to build another, beat the mission in under 13:30

thanks again to schultz for the strategy.

build walls for both bases, the enemy brings up very limited siege and it gives you time to move your army up and down if you need to.

I took this mission pretty slow and steady, if you aren't looking for speedrun strats. Immediately build your first TC across the river and start getting your economy going. You want docks and I went for automaton spam (absolutely amazing in this mission as long as you can soundly defeat the enemy army without losing all of your dudes - you literally lose nothing after they repair the dead ones).

Build walls on each entrance of the temple and on the eastern side of your resource base to buy time - you'll have to transport your army back and forth a few times but its not that big of a deal or that common. When you have repelled an attack, take your navy, add in some troops on a transport and go west over the river. All you need to do is land/attack the docks and destroy it. They won't rebuild, so you can suicide on it and mop up the survivors later. This stops all naval attacks from this point on (the north-east base has a docks but never used it in my game).

From this point, I continued to mass automatons (GOATed and absolutely demolish the attack waves) alongside archers. I beat one attack wave, I go destroy some buildings in the western base. Come back, defend - repeat. Once the western base is completely destroyed you can either just relocate your resource farm over there so that you don't need to cross the river, or just start attacking the north-east base. Use your new god power to help (you can also take the relic second-from-the-left easily, but watch out for the avengers, you need hero archers or behemoths because they delete entire armies of automatons).

The yellow base needs to path through the red base to attack you across the river, so you can just sit and hold comfortably knowing you won't be attacked anymore once you only have to focus on the right half of the map.
