If you are just relying on the computer to do all the tedious stuff for you, you ought to just play an idler game at that point. There's a difference between using hotkeys and such as to just telling the computer to take care of it all for you so you can focus elsewhere. I understand it's fine if everybody gets the same capability, but I still just feel like it doesn't really belong in ranked
Also do you have the game on a separate platform? I noticed you don't have it here so is this preventing you from purchasing the game? I saw one guy raging who got banned, but he was saying he was going to refund the game and quit out of every single match until it allowed him to do that
If the competitive players don't want it, they can turn it off in their custom games during their tournaments.
But we who like to play ranked want military autoqueue.
So you want to play ranked casually then? Yeah not gonna happen. Ranked requires you know what you're doing. Part of that skill of knowing what you're doing is knowing how to manage your resources properly. And it's a toggleable option. If you toggle ban military autoqueue off and you aren't finding matches, sounds like most of the community doesn't agree with you. I normally don't say this but it sounds like it's justified in this case.
Git gud.
My solution? Don't buy the game.
You're not part of the AoM community, you're a AOE2 fanboy who is trying to push for Retold to become more like AOE2.
Military AQ has been a part of ranked AoM for over two decades. It belongs in ranked.
It's not unnecessary micro LOL. It's very necessary macro. Making units are at the core of an RTS game. If you can't make units well your army sucks and you lose the match. It makes perfect sense that the game wouldn't do it for you in a ranked mode where it's skill vs skill. If you don't know the difference between micro and macro then you don't need to weigh in on this conversation to begin with.
You're the type of person in League of Legends who gets a level 30 account from their friend or a paid service website and immediately jumps into ranked mode having no idea how to play the game and just int the entire time because you don't even know the fundamentals.
Military unit production is not interesting or fun, it's annoying and boring. Autoqueue makes the game more accessible and frees the players time up to focus on other, more interesting and fun aspects of the game, this is undeniable.
If you can't master the simple task of hitting a hotkey to select your military buildings, then hitting another hotkey to produce the unit you want, then how far into ranked are you going to get, really? Let's be honest here. If you can't even pull off something that basic you're not going far, and the autoqueue begins to look a lot more like a crutch than a quality of life feature.
Plus, the game even lets you toggle it so the entire argument is moot. If you wanna play against people of a similar mindset then just toggle it off. From the game itself, and I quote:
"Military Autoqueue is only allowed in ranked if ALL players switch off this option. Changing this setting doesn't guarantee you can use Military Autoqueue in the match found."
If you're playing and still getting matches where you can't autoqueue then it sounds like nobody else liked that feature and you're in the minority of players. Which loops right back around to a skill diff.
Because they're not optimal. It's not the same type of comparison at all. The auto combos are bad and just function as a way for new players to be able to do a little bit.
Please tell me how it's beneficial at high level play to click the military units yourself over auto queue'ing them? Where's the skill difference?
