Torn on wanting to buy or not

I love the RTS as a genre and I liked AOE4 (idk about loved) I think the combat aspect of it was too bland. Is AoM more intuitive with combat? I usually try to buy 1 game a year and I am trying to figure out if this is for me

From what I've seen, AOM seems less about building walls and laying siege to them with siege warfare like AoE was.

So i was torn too, i've played the original and i loved it a lot but was worried the price point was too steep.
Basically, if you've played the AoE games (idk about 4 since i've only played up to 2) it's kind of like AoE but with a whole god & faith system. Each Pantheon is pretty different from each other and it's tons of fun with the Titans and Myth units!
