If I delet my own fafnir before the enemy lands the final hit, does it negates the gold that it drops ? Don't really know if it's a dumb question

No, it gives Gold the same, otherwise it would be grossly abusable.

The whole point of Fafnirs is that they are VERY strong (strongest stats for a Myth Unit in the game) but losing them is very punishins, no matter how you lose them.
