Skeletons have been removed or altered for the Chinese market. This change is due to cultural sensitivities and regulations in China, where depictions of skeletons and other undead entities are often considered inappropriate or offensive. To comply with these regulations and make the game accessible to Chinese players, developers have adjusted the game's content accordingly. They also removed egyptian mummies being skeletons, they now have normal bodies, tartarian gate is not a skull anymore, they removed some nordic symbols like the rune othala in the spy power because of racism, what do you thing about this? should we really care about chinese market regulations, do they care about us?

They should have two versions - like they do with warframe - one to please the Chinese and one for everyone else

I’m honestly very surprised they removed the skeletons. I think they figured people wouldn’t notice but they couldn’t have been more wrong.

It is a shame that instead of an upgrade a remake is supposed to be we are getting a downgrade. I hope mods fix this mistake.

Aphrodite being more clothed than previously. I am sure someone would see this as censorship compared to her original artwork.

I thought Aphrodite's new design is a downgrade from her original. There was the beta one back then and then we got alpha one which was the middle ground, and now we got a new one that is even more clothed.

Being this true, it truly sad, remember that time when companies really cared, and made different versions for some countries with their pathetic cultural believes, the Commander COnquer Generals was one of them, the german version was different, can't wait to mod this game, so I can completly remove chinese references, civ or anything related, add blood and skeletons all the way.

Then please explain why skeletons are still in AoE 2 DE and why AoE 2 HD with corpse decay is still sold in China. Shouldn't these games be removed then?

this is really a huge shame, its obvious they are willing and prefer to compromise on an authentic remake in favor of a watered down game to please an audience that will never play it.
