I'm really not sure why you are so deeply offended about the prospect of newcomers being able to access a tutorial in an open test environment when it was available in the paid beta? Does it make you feel like your pre-order is worth less or are you scared that other people may have some practice and wont be so easily stomped?
Just trying to fathom where you obnoxious attitude is stemming from really.
The exception is not the rule kid.
So once again, why are you so against a 7 minute tutorial being included in an open test environment for new players with the intended gameplay being a 1v1 framework?
Don't get me wrong! I totally support the idea of a demo even though I've already bought the premium edition. I also think the 2 hours that steam allows for a game to be refunded is too short a time for someone to really try out a game. In my opinion, demos help draw more players to games that are actually good because people would have more incentive to try them before putting down their money.
I just don't think the Stress Test was a proper way of introducing the game to new players. The aim there was to actually make players to descend upon the servers en mass in a short amount of time. Any significant single player content would have been detrimental to that goal. A tutorial wouldn't hurt, but a tutorial is hardly a representative of a game like AoM nor would it prevent a player from getting stomped in multiplayer.
Specially for AOM imo.
Dont wanna buy the game but want to try it?
its called the xbox game pass.
once again just pay for xbox game pass.

Different approach. I can argue that a player can extract countless hours from the AOE3DE trial version.
I played the hell of the OG AOE3 demo, and that one was limited to 2 static civilizations, 2 skirmish maps, and 2 campaign missions.
Either way, the point of a demo/trial is to test whether the game is to your liking. The AOE3DE trial achieves that and more.
