They should ! . I was hoping the unit animated like in Age 4 at least
they did change the animations from the original aom lol.
They literally had too.
Old aom had heavy and light attacks for units like fanatics.
Aom retold only has light attacks.
I assume recoding something so built into the base game would have taken a huge amount of work. There's probably something about the original game's engine that locks an animation to only so many frames or something along those lines.
This is one of the issues with remastered old games. Underneath, you can still see the outdated bones of the old game no matter how much they upres textures and whatnot.
But, the only other option would have been to completely remake the game. At that point it'd be AoM 2. I would be interested in that, for sure, but it's also a much larger and longer undertaking.
