Why the units animations are so robotic ?
Its 2024 , not 2004.I have no idea , who animated this game , but it looks really bad.Im talking about walking and running units animations.Looks so robotic , and units also sliding like on ice

I come from only playing AOE4, when I fired up this game it felt like it was very underwhelming, the UI is not suitable for 4k (it feels like 1080p quality), there is also no HDR option and the fps wasn't that great either

they didnt change the animations from the original AOM, only the models, even the death animations are the same

And this is bad, need better animations if you upgrade graphics you need to rework the animations too. This is quality of life. The price of this game is too high, all things must be better to justify.

This is wrong
they did change the animations from the original aom lol.
They literally had too.

Old aom had heavy and light attacks for units like fanatics.
Aom retold only has light attacks.

I assume recoding something so built into the base game would have taken a huge amount of work. There's probably something about the original game's engine that locks an animation to only so many frames or something along those lines.

This is one of the issues with remastered old games. Underneath, you can still see the outdated bones of the old game no matter how much they upres textures and whatnot.

But, the only other option would have been to completely remake the game. At that point it'd be AoM 2. I would be interested in that, for sure, but it's also a much larger and longer undertaking.
