Is this game similar to Age Of Empires 3?

I would like to buy this game or at least I am thinking about that, but I really dont know what does it look like. I could see some youtube videos, yes, but if this game is for me I prefer to discover everything the game has to offer for myself and from zero.

AOE 3 is one of my favourite strategy games, along with Imperivm III: Great Battles of Rome, and DOTA 2 (I suppose because dota is a moba it has nothing to do with this game).

I had good times with aoe 2 too although it is not in my top 3.

Chronologically it came between AoE 2 and 3 and OG AoE 3 ran on a modified version of AoM's engine. Thus, AoM pioneered some of AoE 3's gameplay elements. :)

I was not aware of that information and I think it's great for me if the game has some aoe 3 gameplay elements. One more reason that makes me want to buy it in the next few days.

The RTS games of the late 90s and early 2000s are what we (family and friends) grew up playing. Warcraft 1-3, the Command & Conquer games, Age of Empires, and Seven Kingdoms.
Our friends Dad ran the College Library and we would have a Lan-Party before any of us kids knew that was a term. Those same friends a few years later introduced us to Age of Mythology.

Yeah. Warcraft 3 was really good too. I remember playing it for whole afternoons after school + eat and study for a while, in a cyber cafe that was 5 minutes from my house.

I was a kid also (like 10 years I think) and in my country internet was like a weird thing specially in young people in those times.

I miss that time a lot and especially the games from those times, like Warcraft 3. The games in general were made with more affection and love.
